  • Learning Through Modeling: Digital Design & 3D Printing!

    Funded May 4, 2021

The use of the 3D printers and Graphics Drawing Monitors has profoundly transformed the learning experience in my middle school science classroom. These technologies have offered students an avenue to physically bring to life concepts that were previously confined to textbooks and illustrations, greatly enhancing their comprehension and engagement. For instance, students can now print intricate cell structures, offering a hands-on exploration of their complexities, which promotes an immersive understanding far beyond what traditional diagrams can provide. Moreover, these tools help them to make a connection between abstract concepts and tangible objects, a vital ability that strengthens their scientific reasoning. Beyond understanding, this technology has also sparked creativity, curiosity, and the kind of critical thinking that is at the heart of scientific inquiry. Thank you so much for helping make this dream a reality.”

  • Concept Modelling for Student Academic Achievement!

    Funded Jun 12, 2021

Thank you for your support in obtaining Die Cutting & Embossing Machines for my classroom. They have enabled my students to augment their understanding of complex scientific concepts in a more tangible and engaging manner. Rather than solely relying on textbooks and static images, students can now generate and manipulate dynamic, physical models to enhance their learning. The ability to construct and interact with these models has brought scientific ideas to life, boosting their comprehension and retention of intricate scientific phenomena. Moreover, the hands-on learning experience offered by this technology has also allowed students to demonstrate their learning in innovative ways that feel more intuitive and engaging.

It's heartening to see the degree of creativity and dedication my students are pouring into their work, merging their artistic talents with their science curriculum to design compelling visual aids. These machines have turned our students into eager creators, producing interactive summative projects for various lessons and units, thereby reinforcing their knowledge and enhancing their problem-solving skills.”

  • Understanding Science Through Poster-making!

    Funded Jun 12, 2021

The introduction of the poster-maker technology into our classroom has been transformative for our students' educational experience. Our scholars have an increased sense of ownership and pride in their work, as it now prominently adorns the classroom walls, serving as constant reminders of their achievements. This increased visibility of their work encourages them to grasp concepts more deeply, stimulating not only academic growth but also fostering an enriched learning culture. The use of visual and artistic representation has enabled our students to showcase their understanding of scientific concepts more effectively than through traditional multiple-choice exams or short text responses. Bringing this poster-maker into our classroom has become a catalyst for student engagement and understanding, opening new avenues for expression and comprehension.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Carpenter

  • Students Teaching Students!

    Funded Jun 12, 2021

I am truly inspired and deeply touched by the incredible generosity you have shown in supporting my classroom's "Students Teaching Students!" project. The Canon Image poster-maker has significantly enhanced our learning environment, fostering an atmosphere of shared discovery and student-led instruction. The access to this technology has empowered our students, enabling them to improve their educational experiences by actively participating in the learning process, not just as learners but as educators too. The students have embraced the responsibility of researching, understanding, and distilling complex scientific concepts into digestible and visually appealing graphics. Moreover, the process of peer-to-peer instruction has boosted their confidence and understanding, proving the old saying true - "to teach is to learn twice".”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Carpenter

  • Support Ms. C's Inquisitive Teen Scientists

    Funded Nov 20, 2015

Thank you so much for your donation! Although the students loved all of the resources we received, their absolute favorite was the butterfly world. Everyday they would visit the classroom to see the progress of our creatures! Some students were so engaged they wrote reports on the life cycle of a butterfly without even being asked to do so. This is something I have never experienced. After they were so engaged, I actually was able to take them to Fairchild Tropical Garden. While on our field trip there the tour guides were so impressed by their knowledge.

When the students heard our project was funded their eyes lit up and they were so happy. Every day for the next three months they asked me when were we going to dissect the sharks! Thank you for that by the way, I used the sharks as behavioral management. The class needed a certain amount of points in order to win the dissection!

My students are moving on to high school now and they are getting sentimental as the end of the year quickly approaches us. They keep thanking me for such a fun and engaging year! Thank you for making our year a success, I would not have been able to do it without your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Carpenter
