  • Organizing Our Musical Theater Supplies!

    Funded Oct 9, 2024

We really appreciate your generosity to our theater class! We are working on so many different plays and projects that it is truly a necessity to have an organizational system in place. Students will learn how to organize materials in a way that that can be found easily.

We are also really grateful for the three tables that we have on the way! We are going to use them in class when we are performing for lower grades to set props on. We are starting Finding Nemo the musical very soon and we will be using the tables backstage to hold props as well.

Thank you for making a lasting impact on our program!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Uher

  • Theater Basics

    Funded Sep 16, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom! The students have been so excited to use our recording tripod with lights. We have already used it several times to record short plays for kindergarten and it has been a lot of fun.

Your support helps my students grow as performers, connect with others, and share the joy of performing with younger grades. We are actively working on building out theater program up and this has really helped us get off on the right foot. We will continue to use all of the materials”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Uher

  • That’s a Wrap!

    Funded Aug 19, 2024

We are so excited to have received treats for after our production of Finding Nemo. My students will have something to look forward to after the show closes. Most of the time, there are a lot of emotions that come along with ending a show. Lots of students become attached to the characters they play and love spending time with their friends. When the process ends, it can be sad and that is why I am having a cast party after it closes. Students will be able to celebrate success as a group! Thanks for helping us celebrate a great show! :)”

  • Microphone Packs for Safe Keeping!

    Funded Apr 2, 2024

We are really excited to have microphone packs for our new microphones! We are putting on The Little Mermaid this June and we want to make sure we keep our microphones safe. The packs will ensure that they remain in place on the actors bodies and keep them secure and safe from falling off. They are such a nice quality and we are very lucky that you were able to help us by donating to our cause! Students are learning a lot about responsibility using expensive equipment and you have helped us get them the materials needed for success. Thank you so much!”

  • Sounds Good!

    Funded Apr 2, 2024

What a difference you have made in our classroom! We now have better sound quality, the ability to hear music more clearly, and have been making beautiful music ever since!

When our ceiling speakers broke in the music room, school was not able to afford to pay for the replacement of the sound system. I had big dreams of having a nice sound system, so I wrote this grant for my students and I and you truly made our dream come true. They deserve the best and you have made them such happy musicians lately!

Thanks for making a difference in our classroom!”

  • Music Centers!

    Funded Dec 28, 2023

Thank you so much for the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card. All of my materials have been purchased, thanks to you, and I've been able to incorporate more music centers in class! I love doing centers with my classes because students have ownership in their learning. These are all concepts that we have gone over as a full group and with centers, they can build on what they already know and even make new connections. I think it is really important for students to work in groups to form a positive classroom climate. It is nice to see students working together, showing leadership, musicianship and more. Thank you for making our centers more engaging!”

  • Test One, Two, Three!

    Funded Jul 25, 2023

We are so grateful to be fully funded for our first ever musical production! We have been working so hard to choose a musical that fits our school, and we are happy to announce that we are going to be performing Finding Nemo! We chose this because there are a lot of parts, cute costumes, amazing music and dances, and of course our amazing new microphones thanks to all of you! Adding microphones to our performance will really benefit our performers so they don't have to project so much they lose their voices. It will also benefit the audience so they can hear our amazing story! We are forever grateful!”

  • Lights, Camera, Action!

    Funded May 8, 2023

You have no idea how much excitement you have created in my classroom in these last weeks of school! I had the students do an un-boxing with me and they're so excited to have our own mics, sound system, and blacklight bars for special effects. We have been talking about creating a theater program all year and now we are well on our way! We will be performing a pirate play with some added Pirates of the Caribbean tracks that the students have help me select this week. We are talking about set design, costumes, behind the scenes help for the upcoming school year's production.

I am also in contact with the ASU Gammage Title 1 school theater program, and there is an excellent chance that we will receive an opportunity to put on a 30-minute Disney musical in 2023-2024 that would be fully funded by ASU. They would even provide stipends for 3-4 staff members that commit to the 17-week program. We most certainly will need the mics and lights for that!

Thank you so much for making this dream come true for not only my 700 students, but also for me. I cannot wait to share the joy of musical theater with my students starting in August. You've made a lifelong impact by donating to Arizona Charter Academy's developing theater program under my direction. Stay tuned for our debut!”

  • Piano Players!

    Funded Apr 13, 2023

Thank you so much for adding to our piano music collection! The students have been enjoying learning new songs to play for their class! We are having daily piano concerts in our room and it has really been motivating many students to learn. We even have teachers stopping by to hear the songs and they are so impressed! It's really building a sense of community at our school and in our music room. I even have copies for the students to bring home incase they have a keyboard at home to play on. Thank you so much!”

  • Music Carpet for Mini Musicians!

    Funded Mar 2, 2023

My students are so excited about our new music carpet. It creates a whole new space for learning and fun! We got new bulletin board materials to showcase their work. They help in the decorating process, and it instills a sense of inclusion and belonging in our music classroom community. The new light up tambourines are a fun reward for great behavior! They have been working so hard to earn them for our end of class rock out session. I have seen so many smiles over the past few weeks and it's from your generosity. We appreciate you all and the impact you made on all 700 students and me.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Uher

Thank you for stopping by to read my proposal! I really appreciate your time to read through it! I teach grades 6-8 at a very low income school. I have five sections of general music during the day and then 2-3 days before school, I teach choir. There is a lot of interest in music among the students, but I do not have enough supplies to meet all of their individual needs.
