  • The Need for School Reform

    Thank you so much for your donation! With your help, I was able to attend a Professional Development series where I learned how best to implement diversity and equity lessons in my classroom. My students had conversations about getting to know each other, they practiced reading and writing about what makes them all special and they watched videos on kindness, equity and celebrating diversity.

    In addition, I was able to share teacher resources with my colleagues and administration. We are in the process of creating an equity team and helping our staff implement various lessons for our students.

  • Baby It's Hot Outside!

    Thank you so much for your generosity! As you can imagine, the summer months in New York City get extremely hot. The classroom becomes unbearable without air conditioning. Unfortunately, due to funding issues, our classroom does not have a working a.c. However, because of your donation, my students will stay cool this summer. They will be able to learn and stay focused on their academics.

  • Keep The Flu Away!

    Thank you so much for your donation. Because of you, my students have a healthy and clean classroom. With flu season right around the corner, students are able to clean their hands with sanitizer and the tables are wiped down every day. The tissues are especially helpful as the little ones learn how to take care of their needs. In addition, the Clorox spray allows me to reach door handles, and book shelves to make sure those germs go away! Thank you again for your generosity and support! Class 313 is very grateful!”

  • Back to School Supplies!

    I am so grateful for your donations! My students used the glue sticks on the first day of school! They cut objects out in math and cut letters out in writing. They were very excited to use the materials! In addition, they placed their new pencils in their table bins. The school supplies are very helpful for the students.

    I used the laminator to create a math game and a reading game for the first week of school. The students are able to write on the laminated sheets with dry erase markers. These centers can be used over and over again. Thank you so much for you generosity!”

  • The Power of Choice: Flexible Seating

    My students walked into the classroom on the first day of school and were so excited to see their various seating options! After teaching them how to use each seat properly, they quickly settled into their routines and got right to work. The stools are especially great for my students who like to fidget while they work. The donut cushions provide comfort and the bouncy band allows students to move their feet their working. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity. Due to traumatic experiences my students face on a daily basis, it is often difficult for them to exercise self-discipline over their physical restlessness. The use of flexible seating, such as wobble stools and bouncy bands, enables students to channel out their restless energy in a positive way. Allowing students to choose which seating will fit their needs gives them the power and independence to address their emotions and achieve a measure of self-control. In order to push my students to their academic potential, their emotional wellness must be achieved first. These flexible seating supplies will enable my students to acquire that wellness. My students need your support to help make their classroom environment tailored to their needs. Our class thanks you!
