Visualizing Success!
Funded Apr 25, 2023Thank you for investing in my class this year and many students in years to come. Your donation has and will have a huge impact on my students.
This year, students were able to use the ELMO to share their fairy tales with their families during VIP day and share their own thinking with each other in class. I was even able to use the ELMO to teach virtually from home when our school went remote for a few days. This really helped me to work with students on our shapes unit in math which required a lot of modeling using manipulatives.
I cant wait to use the ELMO again next year to enrich the learning of a whole new group of eager learners!”

Space to Learn!
Funded Aug 11, 2020Thank you for your generous gifts. Your donations helped provide two new carpets, a couple of beach chairs for our quiet reading area, and a whole class set of fresh seat sacks. Unfortunately, no one could predict how wide-reaching the Covid-19 pandemic would become. It had been my hope that students would have returned to the classrooms this school year, but my school district is still fully remote and students are learning from home. With remote learning in full swing, students have not yet been able to enjoy all the new materials that you have helped provide.
However, when students finally do return to the classroom, your gift will be even more special! Students will be walking into a fresh new classroom that is welcoming! These materials will help bring back a sense of normalcy to my young first graders, who have never really had a normal elementary experience since their kindergarten experience was cut short due to the pandemic.
The carpets will allow students to gather together as a community when social distancing is no longer necessary. The beach chairs will allow students a spot to read one of the many books available in my classroom, where books had been unavailable to them before. Finally, the seat sacks will give them their own personal space to store all their supplies and work that they are so proud of.
I look forward to witnessing the joy that your gifts will bring!”

Mrs. Bartels

Funded Aug 22, 2015My first grade students were very excited when they saw the new seat sacks! They loved having their own seat sack, labeled with their name, to store all their belongings. They have taken ownership of their materials and work hard to keep their space organized.
The students are using their seat sacks to keep our classroom neat and tidy. They are able to find materials quickly when needed, and they are also able to put things away in an organized way. My entire class is able to quickly transition between activities because all of the supplies they need are quickly accessible to them. We are spending more time learning and less time looking for lost books, papers, and pencils in a messy desk.
This funding of this project has really helped my students understand how to stay organized. This is a skill that is still very difficult for many six-year-olds. My students have been learning to take pride in their work and belongings. It has been so much fun to watch!”
