Please Help Us Protect Our New iPads!
Funded Jan 28, 2015Wow! What can I say? You have truly impacted my students' learning! Thank you all so much for your generous donations to our project for five iPads cases! This project was so important because it was imperative that we protect our new learning tools! My class received the iPads and iPad cases in February, and to say they were excited is an understatement. They are thrilled to have another resource for learning at their fingertips. They literally jump at the opportunity to use them whenever they can. The five iPads you have provided cases for have added to our technology resources in our classroom. The children have more time using the technology because we have more of it available.
Words cannot express how thankful we are for your support. Thank you again for helping my students! With your help, I have another method of enhancing the learning experience for my students in an authentic way.”
With gratitude,

When the iPads arrived, I went to work setting them up and adding apps that would be beneficial to the children. One app the children enjoy is Notability. With this app, students are able to download tasks I assign, work collaboratively on them with peers, and send them for review when they are complete. Additionally, I have found resources for math practice to increase speed and accuracy as well as enhance problem solving. During a recent writing unit on informational text, the children used the iPads to research and create infographics (a writing piece with written information as well as visuals).
We have recently started a unit of study with our class on creating innovative solutions. During this unit, students will create a solution to a problem and write a business proposal to fix the problem. Student access to the Internet on the iPads will allow them to have ample opportunities to do research in addition to resources from our school and class libraries. My students are so excited about this upcoming project!
