  • 'Welcoming/Homecoming- Back to School in Person!!!'

    Funded Aug 17, 2021

Thank you for providing the items to help me in welcoming our students back to school in person! I was able to have the classroom nice and clean, (with the Clorox wipes), brand new crayons for everyone, (especially since the children are not allowed to share at this present time), and amazing posters to welcome everyone back to school! The materials we received reinforce learning, as well as reminding us of (SEL),our social emotional goals!

On behalf of the children, and myself, Thank You ALL So Very Much! :-)โ€

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Regina

  • Learning & Teaching via the Internet

    Funded Oct 29, 2020

On behalf of myself, and the amazing children I teach, thank you very much to all of the donors that funded our project. These items will allow me to reach my students more efficiently, both remotely, and in person. In these uncertain times, it is a wonderful feeling to know people whom we have never met, really do care!

    God Bless You all.

  • Stem Into Learning

    Funded Dec 24, 2018

THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!!!! The children Love, Love, Love our STEM materials!!! The materials keep the students engaged, thinking and motivated!!! The students are also practicing their social emotional skills by working together and sharing with the various materials! The older children enjoyed learning about the food chain, with the owl pellets-and they cannot stop talking about the lesson in which they were able to dissect real owl pellets to actually see the bones of the animals the owls ate! I cannot thank you enough! God Bless You Always, and on behalf of the children and myself-Thank You very much again!โ€

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Regina

  • Buggin' Bugs!

    Funded Mar 30, 2016

    Dear Donor Cruz,

Thank you for our Buggin' Bugs!!!

The insects were a hit with the Pre-K students! They watched the caterpillars grow, form a chrysalis, then finally become beautiful butterflies!!!! We learned about metamorphosis, life cycles, and a respect for living things too. The children observed the butterflies drink the juice from the orange slices we gave them, and saw them fly around their 'man-made' habitat. Last, we set them free in the community garden next door to our school. This experience was even more special since our school is in a very urban neighborhood, of the South Bronx.

As for our ant farms, the children loved watching the ants, dig tunnels, and carry items much heavier than the ants themselves! We fed the ants small pieces of fruit, which we could see with our hand lenses how they eat etc. This also taught the children what living things need, to survive. (Life skills)

Thank you so very much for giving 80 Preschool children, (and 8 teachers-plus others who came to see our tiny friends), such a wonderful learning experience!!! Hands-on learning that lasts a lifetime!

God's Blessings to you and yours always, Della Regina :-)โ€

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Regina

My students are curious about the world around them, and love nature! When my project gets funded, I will be able to give the children opportunities to experience the responsibility of taking care of living things, and to witness the life cycle of a butterfly first hand! The 'Rotting Log' kit is a container with live decomposing insects, that the children can observe, do experiments with, and take care of daily!
