Where In The World Are We?
Funded Feb 4, 2009The impact of your gift on my class has been tremendous. I have several groups of students who love working with the wipe-able maps so much that they often stay in from recess to "play" with them.
Additionally, having not one, but two, full sized wall maps has greatly improved my instruction as a teacher. Now when I reference a state or a country, I can actually show my students where the location is on the map and its relative distance from us here in Texas. I've noticed a considerable improvement in my students' conception of where countries are in the world as well as the number of states they can correctly identify on the US map. As 5th graders studying United States history, using these maps and learning from them is crucial. Their education would not be the same without them!
I am reminded of your generosity every time I enter my classroom. The wall maps have brightened the plain walls and stand as a reminder that I am not alone in my quest to provide a quality education to all children. For this, I am very thankful. I would also like you to know that every one of 63 students can now tell you that Paris is the capital of France and show it to you on a map!”

Daring and Daunted...Dictionaries Improve Diction!
Funded Nov 9, 2008Thank you very much for the dictionaries. They could not come at a better time. Your generosity is sincerely appreciated. When I told my students that I submitted a proposal for new dictionaries they all crossed their fingers and wished REALLY hard...I guess it worked! I can't wait to see their faces tomorrow morning when I tell them the good news. Thank very much.
Warm Regards,
Ms. M”
