Super Fun and Engaging Books to Read!
Funded Aug 22, 2022My students love to read! I use many mentor texts to teach my students. The kids get so into my books that they start asking for books just like them. With your generous donation to our classroom, the students now have books by the same author, books with the same characters, and books appropriate to their grade level. Poppleton and Katie Woo are just a few of the tremendous characters my students get to love as much as I do. It is so exciting when I get to take a child to my classroom library and suggest some of these titiles for them to read. We also received a class set of clipboards. My students have the opportunity to move around the classroom during their reading rotations. The clipboards have made it easier for the kids to complete their daily work even when sitting on the floor or in a comfy spot. I can't thank you enough for helping my students succeed!”

Getting Books Into Their Hands
Funded Aug 28, 2020You have me crying happy tears! I am so humbled by your generosity. My students will be able to enjoy these books (at their levels) for years to come. Thanks again for making the world a better place and making sure that all of my children succeed! This is why I became a teacher:)”

Lego Technology
Funded Dec 20, 2016First and foremost, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donation to our classroom. The five Chromebooks have made a positive impact on my kids. They are able to use a reading application to listen, read, and take a comprehension quiz on books during our Daily 5 rotations. I have started to do research projects for writing and the kids are able to use the computers right then and there to pull up information in the classroom during Writing Workshop. I have started a Goggle Classroom where the students can sign in and receive messages from me about assignments. Quite a few of my students check out the Chromebooks to type their stories. They are practicing writing and typing skills at the same time. The students think it is so cool to be able to do things electronically instead of pencil and paper. I really love watching some of my students type their stories and realizing what they put didn't make sense because of spelling. Spell check has made them more aware of what words they are typing. I can't say enough how much these Chromebooks mean to us. They have really made a few of my students more independent in their learning. Thank you again for making my students feel special.”
