My project is to create a diverse, representative library of books to empower my students. I will use these books daily in literacy-based therapy activities. While my students are working on speech sound production, vocabulary, grammar, and communication skills, they will have the opportunity to see themselves and their peers featured as main characters. I want to use this library of books to create a culture of inclusion where my students feel confident, curious, valued, and safe. I also want to use these stories to develop a sense of community and connection with their families. My goal is to make these stories accessible for my students to share with their families through read-aloud videos presenting the stories in their home languages.
