TRain eXceptionally To Win.
Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you so much for the sporting equipment for my track club. This was the first time my school has had a track club and the students loved it. I had so many students show an interest in the club we needed to add more days.

Burns more fat than the traditional workouts
Set it up anywhere
Helps you to achieve fitness goals when used properly
The TRX is a convenient addition to your workouts, especially if you don't have access to a gym. My track club is very oftern just using the school yard. Its great to be able to provided different types of exercise even when not inside a proper gym.
Thanks again for always helping to pull the community tighter. This was an amazing experience for my students that will will continue again. The students are excited to start running this year."”

Funded Nov 28, 2022Thank you so much for the sporting equipment for my track club. This was the first time my school has had a track club and the students loved it. I had so many students show an interest in the club we needed to add more days.
The students craved interaction with each other and needed to get out and moving after such a long time of isolation. We started so and build up our endurance using the different equipment we received from donors choose. We did races and different exercises. We eventually did actually runs. We run more than a marthon's worth of miles in such a short time.
We continue to trai working on drills to increase our speed. We are now running a 5k every time we run.
Thanks again for always helping to pull the community tighter. This was an amazing experience for my students that will will continue again. The students are excited to start running this year."”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations towards this project. Teaching science involves students having the opportunities to do labs and hands on activities. Unfortunately with limited supplies and time it is often hard to do actual labs. The color ink allows me to use my printer to create and print beautiful manipulatives students can use to learn and understand science more accessibly.
Currently, my students are using colorful puzzles pieces of the digestive system printed with the new ink catridges to explore and learn about the organs. These manipulatives have allowed the students to develop deeper understandings into the inner workings of their bodies.
The whole process of DonorsChoose.org was easy to use and I look forward to putting together more projects for my classes in the future. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for having given us this experience."”

Funded Nov 18, 2021Thank you donor's for helping me to get a new computer that can support the demands of this new virtual style of teaching. In this year's science class, technology will play a big role. We are now using a new curriculum which is digitally based. My student are expected to do all lessons on the computer every day. Without technology the students wouldn't be able to get the most out of the new curriculum. In the beginning of the year I was photocopying student notebook pages so that the students who didn't have computers could see what they needed to do. This took hours of time and wasted so much paper in copies. Thanks to the computers from Donors Choose.org, technology has increased my student's learning experience computer by computer.
In science class we play games that help us review for tests. The first is Kahoot. Kahoot is a tool for using technology to administer quizzes, discussions or surveys. It is a game based classroom response system played by the whole class in real time. Multiple-choice questions are projected on the screen. This gives my class and I practice test questions. This is an excellent way to review for a test and we only have access to it because we now have computers in the classroom. Another online game called Quizizz gives free self-paced quizzes to review, assess, and engage in class. Both of these online games prepare us for tests and many of my students would not be able to achieve high scores on tests without these practice games. Thanks again Donor's Choose community for helping a teacher in need.”

Funded May 4, 2021Science is a very lab oriented subject. It comes along with lots equipment of various sizes. Having space for all of this equipment has always been a problem. But now I have even more equipment becasue students can't share equipment anymore. This has really made storage space tight. Storage containers will allow my students to easily get to the lab equipment when needed.
Right now, equipment is randomly stacked in various corners, not labelled or separated by lab or topic. This makes it very difficult to access the equipment when needed. This has caused us to not do some experiments just because its to hard to get to the equipment. Extra storage boxes will help to solve this problem.
I can not express how much the storage containers have helped to organized my classroom. Each lab is labelled ans place inside a storage box. The boxes can now be stacked in the closet based on units, Thanks again for the generous donations to help me organize my classroom with proper storage.”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you donor's for helping me to get a new computer that can support the demands of this new remote style of teaching. Before this new computer, I was constantly being kicked out of the google meet with my students. I would need to restart my computer and that would take forever. I would lose about 10-15 miutes worth of instructional time daily because of this. Ino longer have that issue. My new coputer supports all the demands of a technology heavy remote style of learning. I can use fun apps with the students and show engaging video clips that allow the students to get the most out of each lesson. Thanks again Donor's Choose community for helping a teacher in need.”

This classroom project was brought to life by FamilyAlbum and 6 other donors. For All Your Printing Requirements!
Funded May 5, 2020I just wanted to share with you how having a color printer changed my ability to teach during remote/ distance learning. I was able to scan the worksheets that I brought home from my classroom into my computer. This now allowed me to share vital readings and worksheets with my students while they were working from home.
The DonorsChoose.org community has always been there when I needed them. Teaching like raising kids takes a village and I am so thankful for the community that I have found in DonorsChoose.org.
Now that we are moving back into the classroom, I will be bring the printer back to school. Students are no longer allowed to share paper. This powerhouse of a printer will be able to handle the hundreds of copies per day I will need to make so that each student can have their own individual copy of the worksheet.
Thanks again for making my job just a little bit easier.”

Funded Feb 4, 2020Thank you so much Donors for the cricut machine. It has had a tremendous impact in my classroom. We have just started putting together our periodic table in the main hallway of our school. The periodic squares for each element that the students have been making are coming out amazing. They have used the machine to cut out atom diagrams and stickers of the elements name, symbol and atomic mass and number. We have been using the machine consistently in almost all of our topics.
Our next unit is rocks and minerals and plate tectonics. The students are very excited to use the cricut to make stickers to show how the plates moves and the various types of rocks. The rock cycle will look amazing when we can display it as a class with the amazing things the cricut can do. The students are also enjoying learning how to use the machine. It involves using and learning a new computer program that involves learning how to size the sticker and how to enlarge it to scale for our bulletin boards.
Thanks again for this opportunity for my students to discover how creative and exciting and colorful science can really be.”

Ms. Weisser
