Cooking Up A Storm!
Funded Sep 2, 2020Thank you for your generous donation to my project, Cooking Up A Storm. This project included containers for ingredients and measuring cups and spoons.
It has been difficult for my students to social distance and play alone but I try to incorporate fun activities into our day. In this activity, we are making and baking Kissing Hand Cookies. Although the students were not able to touch the ingredient containers and the measuring tools, they were so excited to participate in making their own cookies. Each student was able to roll out the dough and use a cookie cutter to make two Kissing Hand Cookies which they took home to share with their families.
Hopefully, we will be able to enjoy using these wonderful cooking tools to make more delicious foods in the future.”

Tools For The Creative Minds
Funded Jul 12, 2020Thank you so much for your generous gift that helped my students get these wonderful and useful tools. They each received crayons, pencils, sharpeners, glue and scissors. The students were so excited and couldn't wait to begin writing, drawing and creating. Their enthusiasm was evident as they sat down and started to draw and color, surrounding themselves with the supplies.
In most of the pictures, the students and I made jack o lanterns while on Zoom. They drew the pumpkin with the crayons, cut out the shapes with the scissors and glued on the faces with the glue. The smiles on their faces showed the joy they each felt while working on this project.
In Pre-K we expand the students knowledge of cultures and traditions through art projects celebrating the holidays. Hopefully they will soon return to the classroom but even if they don't we know that they have the tools to continue making and creating seasonal and holiday decorations for their homes.”

Art for Art's Sake
Funded Jul 26, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity which provided my students with these wonderful paint sets and brushes. They were so excited to use the paints and start creating masterpieces of their own.
For this project we made Autumn Trees using their fingers to make the colorful leaves.
Since most of the students are learning remotely, we used Zoom to work on this art piece together. We also used the paints in the classroom making the same Autumn Trees with the children who come into school. The smiles on their faces showed the joy they each felt while working on their beautiful trees.
It is a relief to know that the students have the materials to continue creating works of art whether it is together in the classroom or individually at home. So we give a great big "Thanks!" for your support.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Chin
