I teach 29 bright and adorable five and six year olds during the PM Kindergarten session at my school. I also share my classroom with my partner, whom teaches the AM Kindergarten session. Because we share everything from our tables to our cubby spaces, organization is the key to keeping our classroom working as a well oiled machine. The most hectic time for us both is always the transition periods; most specifically during the beginning and end of the day routines when our students are either unpacking or packing up for the day. Part of our stress during this time is because our students are currently placing their backpacks on a "shelf" above their cubbies. It always starts off somewhat organized, but after adding class work and homework to their backpacks throughout the day, the backpacks end up in a disarray and create a huge mess by the cubby area. This also causes confusion for some students, as they have a hard time finding their backpacks because they get moved around.
