  • Making Social Distancing Fun in School!

    Funded Aug 26, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Trying to socially distance while in a small classroom may be challenging but with your help we will make it fun. I'm sure that my students are going to love the new seating options. Looking forward to the new additions our class will have.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Conde-D'Alessio

  • Wobble Chairs for the Wiggles!

    Funded Dec 13, 2019

Thank you so much for contributing to this project. My students were so happy when they saw the wobble chairs and the ball seats. They could not believe what they were seeing. The room was filled with ooo's and aah's.

We immediately created a schedule for the students to be able to share the wobble seats with each other. It helped them remain focused while learning in the classroom. They were able to wobble and move all while sitting at their desk. The students also felt excited about coming to class because they had "fun chairs" as they called them. This particularly helped in my class with a student that has ADHD and had the constant need to move.

Once again, thank you for your donations and for helping our class run a little smoother. Every school year brings on new challenges and we couldn't have tackled flexible seating options without you.”

  • EAR-resistible Listening Center!

    Funded Dec 29, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to my project. My students are very excited with the new listening center. They look forward to readers workshop and using the read along books. They love to listen to the many stories we received. The students have been able to learn new facts with the non-fiction read along books. They also really enjoy the Puppy Mudge read along books and even role play with each other. Having these materials have motivated them to use books more often. We even used the listening center during our math measuring unit. It really has been amazing to have. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

  • Man's Best Friend!

    Funded Dec 31, 2018

Thank you so much for making this project possible! My students have been very happy and excited to use the materials. The read-along non fiction books have taught them many new facts on animals. The fiction books have helped my students use their imagination on how to care for and play with animals. They are even using information from the books in writers workshop. It truly is amazing to see them transfer information from their read-along books to their stories.

The animal games have helped my students both with role playing and math. They get very excited to count how many times they feed their make believe pets. My students have also been ecstatic to use the pet vet center, classroom vet center, puppets and plush dogs. They really pretend to be a veterinarian taking care of the pets. Using all of these materials have also helped my students work collaboratively in small groups and learned to share and/or wait for materials they wish to use. Once again, thank you for making this possible!”

  • Basic Supplies for Different Needs!

    Funded Sep 11, 2018

Thank you so much for all of your generous donations. My students were so excited when all of the supplies arrived. They really look forward to coming to school and having all of the supplies available is a big necessity. The entire class cheered with joy as they opened up all of the boxes. Everytime they opened a box and saw the supplies inside they waved them in the air and said "look, look".

The students have been using all of the supplies in different areas throughout the day. The pencil sharpener is used daily. The playdough is used to form letters and numbers. The paper bins are used for writers workshop and the book bins for readers workshop. The students are truly thankful for the wonderful supplies this project funded.”

  • Flexible Seating in the 21st Century Classroom!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for supporting our project! The students were ecstatic when the tables arrived and couldn't wait to use them. With the flexible seating the students were able to work in small groups, sit with a friend and choose a working space that worked best for them. This project helped my students in learning how to make important choices throughout the day. They learned to "make smart choices" about finding a place to work that will help them concentrate and be successful. The flexible seating has given them more opportunities for decision making and independent thinking.

On the day that the tables arrived the children were cheering with joy. They couldn't believe that the day had finally arrived and they would finally be able to have a classroom that felt like home. It really has helped them develop excitement towards coming to school and has helped them develop better friendships. They would decide amongst themselves who was going to sit where and how to take turns using the flexible seating. It was truly wonderful to be able to witness their joy. Once again, thanks to everyone who helped fulfill this project!”

  • Let the Games Begin!

    Funded Nov 19, 2016

My students and I are very thankful for your generous donations. When the boxes arrived my students cheered with joy and couldn't wait to open them. We immediately opened them and couldn't wait to use all of the wonderful materials. In my classroom learning has always been more than just reading and writing and these materials were crucial for my students to succeed.

With all of the new games that we received we have been able to do stations three times a week. The students always look forward to stations and have a great time! The games have been beneficial to their learning and for their social skills. I have seen my students interact with each other in ways I never thought possible.

Without donors like you my students would be missing out on the fun of learning through hands on activities. Once again, thank you for your donations.”

  • Bursting With Sensory Fun

    Funded Nov 10, 2016

My students and I are very thankful for your generous donations. When the boxes arrived my students cheered with joy and couldn't wait to open them. We immediately opened them and couldn't wait to use all of the wonderful materials. In my classroom learning has always been more than just reading and writing and these materials were crucial for my students to succeed.

The magnetic tiles have been used during our word study block and as a sentence building center. The students look forward to creating words using the magnetic tiles. They are also being used as a reward for positive classroom behavior. The kids absolutely loved them! The sand and water table has been used with a variety of textures to stimulate different sensory input with my students. It has also been used as a de-escalation tool for my students that need constant breaks. The sensory balls are useful throughout the day as my students need balls to squeeze for stress relief and enjoy the different sounds they make.

Without donors like you my students would be missing out on the fun of learning through hands on activities. Once again, thank you for your donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Conde-D'Alessio
