Project Supplies
Funded Feb 19, 2016Thank you for supporting my students and helping supply my classroom with materials for creating great history-based projects. My students can now explore their creative side when doing research assignments instead of working exclusively on written assignments.
Students learn best when working on projects they have choice in, so by allowing them to have the choice of creative, art-based projects they can have fun while they learning at the same time.”

From Civil War to Civil Rights: History Comes Alive!
Funded Dec 2, 2014Students in my History Research class were overwhelmed when they learned that our project to purchase laptop computers to help them with their research and project creation had been fully funded. They understand the importance of technology in the classroom and the benefits that it brings.
The laptops that we received were used by students to help them research the topics they chose for their National History Day projects. With such a diverse range of topics, it would have been difficult for all students to use the print resources we have in our school. Some students were fortunate enough to have their own laptops they could bring into school to work with, but many did not have that option. These new laptops proved invaluable to those students. For students creating websites and documentaries, the laptops were essential. One of those documentaries advanced to the New York State History Day competition!
Having technology in the classroom helped the learning process for students as I was able to teach them how to use the Internet for research, rather than them simply doing "Google searches" at home. The level of their research improved dramatically.
These laptops really have been a blessing this year, and will continue to be used in my class for years to come. Thank you.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Condon
