  • Amazing Artists

    Funded Sep 7, 2021

My students love the Crayola paint sticks that you purchased for our class. They are able to paint anytime we can and drying time is so fast. These paint sticks are used for art projects or any time we get a chance. They ask me if they can use them all the time. Each student gets their own kit with all the colors they will need. The paint sticks are the perfect size for their little hands too. It's so great to be able to watch my students let their imaginations run wild. They are so creative!

I try and plan art projects where the Crayola paint sticks can be used if students would want to.”

The new resources you helped to provide for my classroom have been a blessing. The dry erase markers and erasers have been the most popular item used. It has been a wonderful way to engage students and keep their attention while doing activities such as making rhyming words, practice spelling, and writing numbers.

My students were so excited when I showed them all the wonderful materials. Their smiles were so big. It felt amazing knowing I had these new things to let them use. It is so important to get students excited about learning.

I am a Reading Specialist so reading is a big focus for me with the students I work with. Math is important too and I work with Kindergarten students on Math skills. However, reading is such an important skill that we use in every aspect of our lives. If I can help my students get to the level they need to be, then I have done my job. I wanted to instill a love of reading in them now that they can take with them for the rest of their life. In order to help them read better you have to start with the basic skills such as rhyming and sight words. Any fun and interesting way to help students remember I have found works best.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sanders

The students I work with are considered to be struggling readers. They are great, hardworking students, but lack the extra help at home that they need. ELE is a priority school. The socioeconomic background of the population in this area is extremely low. Funding at our school is very low and divided among all the grades evenly as possible. It is centered in a extremely small community.
