Expression Through Art!
Funded Mar 2, 2022This project has helped my students use art to express their feelings/emotions in a non-traditional way. Having a conversation is not always easy when it comes to difficult topics, so they are able to experience freedom and creativity when expressing themselves.
The students were excited to see all of the art supplies and were eager to use them. They were grateful that people cared enough to donate the supplies for them to use. The students handle the supplies with care and utilize them in an appropriate manner.
Thank you again for your donation to the students at Stanton Elementary School!!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Valhalla Foundation and 2 other donors. My Feelings Matter and Are Safe to Share Here.
Funded Nov 25, 2021My students have been able to enjoy the sensory fidgets, hand mind games, rubrics cube, feelings coloring books, and games as an opener to our SEL lessons, during times of frustration or uncertainty about sharing feelings and even to help them stay focused. These resources have given them an alternative way to recognize and identify their feelings.
The students were excited to see all the new materials. They wanted to use them all at once. Some of the items required instructions on how to be used appropriately so that they would not become a distraction.
The resources that were received will continue to be used to assist students with exploring and expressing their feelings in a safe learning environment.”

My Mental Health Is Important During Distance Learning!
Funded Apr 2, 2020Thank you so much or supporting my students through this project. The new resources were utilized during our "virtual learning" weekly sessions. The Color Monster (a story about emotions) was an all time favorite with my students. They were easily able to remember to relate the colors their feelings in this story. It also coordinated with The Zones of Regulation which is an evidenced based treatment used with the students.
Although we were virtual, the students received some of the reading materials during material pick up from the school or through USPS and were thrilled to have them as a part of their learning materials. The books were read during sessions and independently. They were able to utilize the resources and truly appreciated the supplies that were received.
The students will continue to utilize the materials to build upon their social skills that will support making friends, talking and listening and understanding social rules.”

Expression! Imagination! Come on Everyone, Let's Have Fun!
Funded Sep 17, 2019The support you have provided for this project has made a difference in the social emotional support sessions held with my students. They were so excited to see all of the new materials that we received. The helped me open the boxes and couldn't wait to put them to use.
*The Feelings playing cards help those who struggle with expressing themselves verbally. The cards have given them a voice and allowed them to share when they normally would've kept their feelings to themselves.
*The teepee tent for kids is definitely a resource that my students gravitate to. It gives them an opportunity to calm themselves and regroup in a safe, quiet environment.
Those are just a few highlighted resources that the students have enjoyed. Please know that the other resources have been used and compliment our therapy time together. We truly appreciate you helping to get this year off to a great start with all of the social emotional supplemented resources. With that we say a BIG THANK YOU!!!!!”
