I am requesting a good document camera because the one I have is difficult for the children to see because it's too light, and I just end up making a powerpoint when I want them to see a variety of literary and writing styles. This consumes way too much time that would be better used in other ways for the kids. Visual examples are extremely important for all learners, but are critical for English language learners. Furthermore, the children are encouraged to share their own poetry, narrative, and expository writing samples. This creates pride and motivates children to do their best. Additionally, I always write with the children, and a good document camera is quite interactive because students can take turns writing creating a class narrative or expository text. Furthermore, this project will reach about 150 plus students this year who promise to be our future congress people, doctors, lawyers, athletes, artists....the world should has no limits and these children deserve the best!
