  • Keeping All of Us Safe in the Classroom

    Funded Dec 12, 2020

I want to thank you for allowing the students and staff to stay safe by providing essentials materials needed during this uncertain times.

Many students and teachers were able to benefit from the materials received. I was able to share the materials with the students learning in-person throughout the building. Teachers were thrill to get most needed supplies. The students had their own sanitizers in each desk and plenty of tissue at their disposal. Teachers equipped their classroom with paper towels, sanitizers, wipes, and cleaning supplies in their classroom. Teachers and students felt loved and care. They gave thanks so many times and smiles in the students faces show their gratitude.

Teachers and students were so grateful for the contribution. With so many shortcuts in the budgets and lack of materials, it was a great surprise for all. Administration staff made an announcement on the loud speaker thanking donorschoose for their generous contribution. The whole school was made aware of the important of organizations like donorschoose and their great support to students and schools in need.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lashin

  • We Can Still Be Connected Through the Use of Technology

    Funded May 20, 2020

Our students benefit from the use of technology daily in our classroom. In these unpreccedented times, our students have been forced to learn really quickly to adjust to a different way of learning. Learning remotely has been challenging for some students. However, students are intelligent and have learned to adjust quickly. Through technology students continue to learn and engage in a variety of activities. Some students might use a YouTube video to better understand a concept while others can complete an online activity or game that provides the instant feedback they need.

The Google Pixelbook Go Choromebook has provided us with the opportunity to engage my students into sing along activities, conversations regarding important events, lessons about numbers, letters and their sounds, and so much more. I love to see their beautiful faces through zoom meetings daily. My students are so engaged and enthusiastic about sharing their projects, assignments, and even showing their favorite toys. It is so rewarding to be connected with them daily and to remind them that we are together and can learn the same as if we were in-person.

All students seem to be warmed up to this new technology by participating more and sharing with the rest of the class.

Thank you so much for given us the opportunity to continue to engage students daily and provide them with the best education possible through the use of technology.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lashin

  • Reading for Success!!

    Funded Mar 31, 2009

    Dear Donors:

It is with great satisfaction that I write to tell you how exciting my students are to be able to enjoy your fantastic gift.

The beautiful carpet has given my students an opportunity to enjoy their reading in a comfortable, colorful setting. My students are so excited because they can travel all around the world as they learn new concepts in the class. The colorful carpet is ideal to introduce map concepts as they learn about the world they live in. The colors and labels has make it easier for my students to learn the seven continents and four mayor oceans. We are taking advantage of the different activities suggestions that came up with the great gift. We want to thank you for you generosity and to be able to give to students resources that can be helpful and can make an impact in the students learning goals.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lashin

I teach a group of special students who work really hard to accomplish their goals. As a new teacher they have inspired me in different ways. I am a Special Education teacher. I teach 3/4/5/ graders in an elementary school. My students are categorized as (MR). In spite of this categorization they are willing to learn and to improve in every subject. My students extra effort to learn is extraordinary. Their every day effort has inspired me to be there to help them achieve their goals. I enjoy looking at them learning and improving as the days pass. I would love to be able to have a more comfortable, colorful and inviting environment where they can continue to improve and move up in their reading levels.
