  • Outdoor Physical Activities

    We are eagerly awaiting the beginning of spring so we may go outside and set up our Frisbee golf course. They arrived in October just as the weather was turning. Currently we are doing some games with the baskets and frisbees in doors. We play horse or guard the tee(I learned not to be the guardian) or just have fun tossing them around. Students will design the course and we will begin play with good weather. Students not in my P.E. class want to play also so we will probably use some self expression time or homeroom time so others can also play. Even the staff want to play! Again thanks for your generosity in helping our kids to discover they can have fun without drugs or alcohol.”

All students of the school will benefit from this equipment as we have time in the schedule for physical activity that is not a part of a class but a time for bonding and creating positive connections. This is a charter school for students recovering from alcohol or other substance abuse. Students will come here from treatment centers or from being expelled from other schools due to substance abuse. This school keeps them from having to return to an environment that is harmful or will negatively impact their recovery. Here our primary focus is on recovery using 12 step principals and secondly on academics.
