I am a teacher working in a Title 1 school and all students receive free lunches. Many of the families I service fall below the poverty line. As a result, some students are homeless, live in an apartment with multiple families. My students also witness crime and poverty in their own front steps. When my students come to school they are ready to learn and are excited to leave all their troubles behind. I struggle to keep these kids up to date with limited resources that we are given at the school. I want to give these kids a fighting chance to become what they desire in life. I want the kids in my classroom and school to become the next inventor, engineer, doctor, chef, artist, firefighter, or any profession that they desire. I want me classroom to not only reflect an inviting environment and sanctuary, but to hold everything my kids need to start building their future.
