  • Loving Books Is a Love of Learning

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

I appreciate you donating to the literacy area in my classroom. My students have come such a long way with their love for literacy. Everyday the students are reading books independently, to each other, and to the teachers.

I truly love to see the joy in a child’s eyes when they encounter a good book.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Miller

  • The Sound Of Seating

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

My students were greatly impacted by the headphones and flexible seating. This project enabled my students to seat where ever they wanted to in the classroom and engage in learning.

Many of my students chose to seat alone in the carpet area where they could listen to books read aloud or simply play a math game. I labeled their headphones and put them in their own plastic baggies. This taught the children to keep track of their materials. It was a wonderful experience for all involved. Thank you very much.”

    Mrs. Miller

  • Organizing Materials

    Funded Jan 25, 2022

My students and I immediately opened our seat sacks that you so generously donated to our classroom. As you can see the seat sacks quickly filled up with academic items that the kids use everyday in class.

The extra storage space helps to ensure that everything the students need is at their fingertips and not in a bin somewhere in the classroom.

In this time of covid19 it is very important for students to have their own materials instead of sharing. The seat sacks are a great way to help achieve this.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Miller

  • Fighting Covid19

    Funded Oct 29, 2020

I was initially very nervous about coming back to school. However, the supplies helped me to feel more comfortable. My students and I are using the materials that we received to help protect us from covid19. We are so happy to have the gloves, hand sanitizer, and face shields.

When my students saw the fidget monsters their eyes lit up. The kids that I assigned them to were happily playing with them in class.

Our class is currently learning about how animals use their senses to take in information from their environment. Which makes the hand sanitizer very useful.”

    Mrs. Miller

  • Expanding Young Minds

    Funded Nov 22, 2019

Thank you very much for the wonderful chrome book. My students truly love their new chrome book because it is lightweight and easy to log onto the internet.

My students are engaged in a reading program in which they read books online and take daily quizzes to check their comprehension. The chrome book due to its light weight allows the students to go back to their seats or sit on floor cushions to read.

The ease of logging into the internet has allowed students to be able to become independent of the teachers and increased the desire to research topics online.

We are truly grateful for the money donated to make our project a success.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Miller

  • Technology at Our Fingertips

    Funded Jul 13, 2019

My students are so happy with the color printer that we received to update the technology in our classroom. It is amazing how engaging our classroom is for the children.

Our new color printer allows me to print copies for students on the spot. There is no reason to put in for copies and wait a day or more for copies.

We now have technology at our fingertips for making sure that all students can have the work they need quickly.

It is donors like you who made this project a reality. Thank you for helping my students become better learners.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Miller

  • Powerful Visuals

    Funded Nov 21, 2018

My class was so excited to receive our package from Donor's Choose. Through our project labeled, "Powerful Visuals". We received a printer, laminating machine, laminating pouches, a box of printer paper, staples, and flash drives.

The smiles on the children's faces as we used our supplies was priceless. They especially enjoyed being able to laminate our "Cooperative Group Roles" and our "Classroom Hand Signals" charts. We even decided to use clothespins with student's names written on them to show which jobs they were assigned to for the day.

But most of all we were excited about our class becoming a print rich environment in which learning is brought to life before our eyes every day. Our joy and excitement is brought to life from support from donors like you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Miller

My classroom project is the power of using visuals to help students who speak English as a second language learner and comprehend classwork. The students in my classroom want to learn; however, they struggle with understanding what they are expected to do without visuals. I am hoping that the printer, laminator, and copy paper will help me to create charts/labels using visuals for my students that are easy to understand and foster greater understanding of the materials in the classroom. A print rich environment with lots of visuals would encourage the students to pay more attention to their work and excel in class.
