Multi Sensory Literacy
Funded May 9, 2023We thank you for your wonderful donation to our classroom. Our students were very excited to receive new books and sensory materials. One of the students, went and picked out the new books from the library and hid it inside his desk.
Currently we used one of the books, The Turning of the Year. The book utilized for this particular lesson was about learning about the changes in the weather. The children were engaged during the story while pointing to the story, the different pictures throughout the book.
Using the mold and play sensory set, the students were showed us how to play in the sand in the summertime. Another students use dot markers to differentiate what we do in spring vs. summer.
This donation may have been small to you, but the impact is great on our students learning experience. I look forward to teaching my students literacy through the different modalities of sensory.”

I have students who do not have a tablet in the home or only used a tablet to play. With the apps within the Kindle, they are able to not only have something highly preferred item to work towards but also I can integrate activity that supports them to achieve goal towards their current IEP goals or work on activities for mastered IEP goals. I love that I can download worksheets in PDF format and have it on their Kindle for them to do.
The students have warmed so much, that I integrated a block in the day in which after all their academic tasks they can play with the Kindle, which in actuality they are learning through play with the Kindle.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.Improve Autistic Literacy Skills
Funded Mar 9, 2016Dear Donors,
Your donation of leveled books has tremendously impacted my classroom.
My students have learned to increase their reading stamina, which is to sit down and read a book. This is achieved because of the donations, students are reading books at their independent level with ease.
They loved the leveled activity box in which they can get to complete activities. The skills that students have learned is not only limited to their reading fluency. However, they have learned how to sequences stories, refer back to text to answer questions, and inferences.
Reading prior to the donation was very difficult but now having access to books at their independent reading level has given the confidence to increase their reading level. All the students enjoy the new books; they look forward to independent reading time. Now the students sit down and read and share stories with their peers, they compare and contrast their stories, and engage in reading activities with each other.
Thank you for your donation!!!!”

Autism Students Ready To Learn!
Funded Jan 1, 2015Words cannot express my gratitude for these resources that I received for my classroom. Although some students are non verbal and have limited language skills. The reaction on their face was priceless. I recalled when I first got the rug one student said what is that. I explained that someone sent it to us for the students to use during circle time.
The students love the rug, some will even lay on the rug when there is no activity being held there. I created a circle time board on the easel, in which they love to participate and look at. They love listening to the music, and playing with the toys that they received. To see how much our students have reduced their running and using the school furniture has been amazing.
Because of the games and the activity the students are able to participate in more independent activities, I am able to use the toys for direct instruction as well as create unique learning experiences. The kids are now engaged in more appropriate learning play which engages them in higher thinking skills.
Thank you again so much. Our classroom is now complete because of all of you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gustave
