  • Help Us Bring in the Tide....for Laundry

    Funded Apr 8, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations! My students were thrilled with all the laundry supplies. We have already began using them to clean our class dish clothes and kitchen towels. We will also be using the various types of detergent to learn laundry skills. The different types of detergent will really help my students learn how to generalize and see that laundry detergent comes in various packaging, brands, and even types. We will also be cleaning the clothes of students in need at school that have accidents, etc. My students will also be given the opportunity to clean some of their own clothing when necessary!”

  • Supplies for Special Needs

    Funded Oct 9, 2018

Thank you so much for your support of my classroom and students. We are very thankful and grateful for the supplies provided by your donation to our project. We have been using the cleaning supplies to clean our classroom. We use the disinfectant spray to keep our desks, tables, and kitchen area clean. The printer ink has been used to create picture exchange communication cards and other projects we use daily in the classroom to communicate and work.

Once again, thank you so much for your support of teachers and students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rogers

  • Special Needs Supplies

    Funded May 17, 2018

The items you helped provide my students are being used daily! The Otterbox cases are on our iPad mini and provide superior protection. I'm not as worried if one of my students tries to carry the iPad to another location in the room or if it is accidentally dropped. It has provided much needed peace of mind. The hand sanitizer and cleaning products are used daily and help keep everyone as germ free as possible. We really appreciate the donations and support! The items purchased really help our classroom function!”

  • Osmo Games

    Funded Nov 8, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students really love the original Osmo Genius kit and the new and additional Osmo games have been great as well. My students love the pizza kit a lot and it allows them to practice taking orders, making a pizza based on an order, and providing correct amounts of money/change. The Hotwheels osmo game allows my students to interact with one another in a fun way. This lets them work on game playing skills and social interactions! We love the new items!

Once again, thank you so much for your donation! :)”

My students loved the new shoes and were so glad to have nice shoes that fit properly. They are also very thankful for the new clothing. • Special Needs Life Skills & Essentials

    Funded Apr 13, 2017

Thank you so much for your donation. My students have used these resources to create food, eat snacks, and make drinks in the classroom. They have been very excited about getting to eat new thing sin the classroom. They have also learned how to make some food items or drinks for themselves.

My students were very excited about the new items. They wanted to see everything, help put things away neatly, and also set things up like the Keurig and toaster. They were very enthusiastic and helpful.

My students will continue to learn new life skills and self help skills as they use these items. We plan to continue working on the skills and changing up the items used to make different things to help with generalization and maintenance of learned skills.”

    With gratitude,

  • Social Skills & Life Skills for Special Needs Students

    Funded Apr 20, 2017

Thank you so much for your donation! It has been a great help for my students in the classroom. They have used the items donated to work on social skills and life skills. The support has provided games, like Monopoly Junior and Life Junior, that my students can actually play. The games are challenging enough for them, work on their social skills, and even their leisure skills because many do not know how to simply play a game and take turns. The toilet game has been a big hit as well. They have all played this together and really helped improve their leisure and social skills. The game has also helped to satiate one student's desire to flush the toilets at school. His obsession has been a constant problem and he has wrecked havoc on the school plumbing system. Getting to play this game has been a nice substitute for actual toilet flushing! The bidet sprayer has also been great for him and helped in the bathroom. Your donations have really made impact on my students and my classroom. It has also helped me by providing them new opportunities and activities, as well as, by helping with student behavior.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rogers

  • Accessing Curriculum With Chromebooks - Special Needs

    Funded Dec 20, 2016

Thank you so much for your donation. The Chromebooks are very handy and been a great addition to our classroom. They really make up for the broken down desktop computers we have in the room. They are not cumbersome and can be used anywhere!

My students are very grateful for the Chromebooks. They enjoy doing their classwork on them. MobyMax and Study Island load very easily and it is much more user friendly and accessible now. We really are thankful for your donation. It has made a big difference in our ability to access technology and resources in the room!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rogers

I'm a special education teacher working as a co-teacher/collaborator in the general education setting. I collaborate in science, social studies, math, and ELA. I'm currently working with the 6th grade and follow the students on my caseload to their core classes. My students have a wide range of needs and disabilities fall under multiple categories including Autism, Other Health Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, and Specific Learning Disabilities. I also coach the academic team and this gives me an opportunity to work with gifted students and provide enrichment opportunities for them. The academic team focuses on 5 content areas: arts & humanities, language arts, math, science, and social studies. Students compete in these content areas in individual tests and quick recall (think quiz bowl). Competitions are held at the district, region, and state level.
