I teach 3rd- 5th grade hard of hearing students in a low poverty area in Michigan. Most of the time when students have a hearing loss they can be behind 1 or 2 grade levels in literacy. Last year my students loss their teacher and had substitutes for the whole year. This caused them to be even more behind (2 and 3 grade levels). Despite the set back they still try hard to move forward and progress in all they do, but they sometimes get bored. I asked my students what they like to do for fun and all of them said they love the computer! I want to take that fun for them and help them progress in their learning.
