Actively Learning in 4th Grade!
Funded Apr 28, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity and for adding so much joy and flexibility in learning for my students! The students were so eager for this project to be funded and eagerly used the materials as soon as they were ready. The students have loved taking the portable desks around the room and taking ownership in determining what area in the classroom and what tools assist them to learn best. The students have also enjoyed actively learning as they wiggle on the wiggle stools. I can see an increase in engagement in learning with how easy it is to be mobile and flexible. The students have also enjoyed roaming the room in their learning with the wiggle cushions as well.
These materials truly have provided flexibility to the student's movement in learning, and I can also say these materials have encouraged the students to be even more collaborative and adaptable learners as they work together to use the tools that allow them to learn in a space where everyone is getting what they need.”

Funded Jul 8, 2015The book shelves you have helped my students to receive have vastly impacted their organization and learning time in my classroom! Through your kind and generous donations and support to my classroom, my students have been able to cooperatively learn and work as well. The shelves have allowed the students to be responsible and prepared in their learning, and they have also learned to be respectful and share materials together.
The bookshelves have helped the students to be much more organized. Each pod of desks has an assigned shelf to put their shared materials on. Each cube in the shelf is a designated spot for specific materials the students will need throughout the course of the day. For example, all of the students' writing binders in table one go in the same shelf cube. This allows the students to know exactly where their needed materials are, so they are able to quickly gather their group's materials. We have saved a lot of time getting ready for our learning activities throughout the day, and therefore have been able to use our time more productively and learn MORE concepts!
The bookshelves have also greatly impacted the students' ability and opportunity to work and learn cooperatively. The set up puts the desks in groups, and allows the students to work together constantly. This has also taught the students to be respectful of one another and each other's school materials. This is preparing the students to be civil members of society who work together and treat each other with respect.
Thanks again for your support and donations! These materials have taught the students the value of cooperative learning, have increased their organizational skills, and have allowed them to be ready to learn quickly and efficiently!”

Read to Succeed
Funded Mar 22, 2015I wanted to first once again express my gratitude towards your donations and support towards my "Read to Succeed" project. It is through your generosity that I was able to spend my summer studying and familiarizing myself with reading intervention materials that have allowed me to more effectively teach reading instruction during my second year of teaching fourth grade.
My students have been engaged and so eager to discover and learn in both guided reading instruction and during their self reading time each day. These resources have allowed me to make our entire reading block more intentional and purposeful each day, which is going has vastly increased my students' learning in reading.
The laptop has also been a great help to me as a teacher. I have been able to more efficiently, effectively, and consistently document and record my students' progress and learning in reading. This has allowed me to give my students a visual of their reading goals and the gains they have made. All these resources have greatly impacted and increased my knowledge base and my effectiveness in meeting my students' individual reading needs. These materials have encouraged a great deal of success in the learning of my fourth grade students. I have thoroughly enjoyed celebrating with my students as they make self discoveries and attain goals in their reading instruction.”
