  • Scene Shifters: Illuminating Young Minds with Green Screen Magic

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

Thank you for purchasing this green screen for my photography students.

The portable screen is very easy to set up, transport and repack.

We tried it out by placing it in the wings at recent award ceremonies and taking pictures of the awardees as they left the stage. Then we added different color backgrounds to our pictures. Just a little project to accustom the children to the green screen and to photo editing. The accompanying pictures show some of our work.

We are looking forward to using the screen at various locations around school, and to stretching our imaginations as we find different backgrounds to our photos / videos.

THANK YOU so much for placing this wonderful tool in the hands of our students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Cuadrado

  • Motivating Middle-School Photographers.

    Funded Jan 23, 2020

Thank you so much for funding this camera / video recorder. I am looking forward to teaching the middle schoolers how to use it. I am sure that they will be snapping lots of photos / making videos that we can put on the school website and social media. What a great way to motivate our young photographers!”

  • A Cricut Machine For Elementary and Middle School Art Class

    Funded Dec 14, 2018

Thank you for buying my middle schoolers a Cricut Machine! The kids have been using the machine to make masks, and you can see from the photos that they really like it. I think the pictures also give you a sense of all the different projects that we'll be able to do using the Cricut. School administrators have spotted the masks and 'commissioned' the kids to liven up our bulletin boards. I like that. It is good to give the students a reason to produce their art works. I am sure this will be the first of many commissions we'll get in the coming months! I really appreciate your helping my kids out. Thank you so much!”

  • Supplies Needed For Photo / Film Enthusiasts.

    Funded Nov 28, 2016

Thank you for helping out our young photographers and film makers! I am uploading some of the kids' photographs. We are all excited about the Action Cam. The school just acquired a new playground. We decided that was the perfect opportunity to try out the Action Cam. We strapped the video camera to the chest of a first grader (using special attachments) and let the kid loose! We shot a lot of material (about 30 minutes). The kids then edited our film and put out the best parts on the school's Facebook. It turned out great. Next time, we're going to attach the Action Cam to the school mascot (a giant panda) and send her into a Kindergarten classroom.”

  • Colorful Art

    Funded Mar 20, 2016

Thank you for making this project a reality. I decided to make the shirts with a couple of the SPED classes. The children really enjoyed making them! We used top quality dye so that the shirts would last a long time. I took them home and put them in the washing machine. The colors are fast. The kids loved trying on their shirts and wearing them around school. Now, they have taken the shirts home. The shirts are just the right things to wear during a boiling hot summer in South Florida. We made the children very happy!”

  • Meet P.T. Corbrick

    Funded Oct 21, 2015

We have been invaded by pandas! Every classroom in the school now has a 'P.T. Corbrick'. There are also pandas in the Media Center, in the front office, and in the school auditorium. The students love the pandas. The real good news is that the pandas are doing the job that we wanted them to do. They help the children remember the attributes in the Learner Profile. (P = Principled, T = Thinker, C = Caring etc.) The students are much more familiar with the Learner Profile, since your P.T. Corbricks came on board!”

  • Please Help Me Start A Photography Club

    Funded Dec 25, 2014

Thank you for your help! I showed the children examples of photographs that take a second look at familiar objects, observing them in fine detail. We walked around campus with our cameras, shooting everyday objects in close-up and from unusual angles. The club members learned how to crop their pictures and decided whether to keep the photos in color or change them to black and white. Most preferred black and white. The members could have altered their photos in other ways but chose not to. They wanted their pictures to remain true to life. It is really good that our school now has a Photography Club. We are looking forward to meeting again next year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Cuadrado

My students have just signed up for our new club. I was going to limit club membership to middle school students but a lot of fifth graders wanted to join, too. In fact, it looks like half the members will be elementary school students. Our school is a K-8 center in Florida. We are in a high poverty area.
