Thank you so much for helping me to start this school year off right! I’m so excited to pass out new white boards (no “art” on the backs!) along with dry erase pens and erasers. I’m also psyched to use desk pets in the classroom to encourage hard work and good behavior.”

  • Color Our Classroom

    Funded Aug 26, 2022

It has been so exciting to add a color printer and copier to our classroom. It has allowed us to do so many new things!

The first project finished was color labeling our whole library so that students could easily find books in a series that they love and by their favorite authors. This has impacted both the visual enjoyment of our library and our easy of use with it. We soon struck out into new territory- printing color photos for art projects and for our oral presentations boards!

The new printer has influenced my students' ability to create & imagine. It has also lowered my stress level by allowing me to do so much more, so much more easily than ever before. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for impacting my whole classroom, me included.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Saldana

  • More Reading Makes Readers!

    Funded Sep 30, 2022

We feel so blessed to have shelves to house our carefully labelled books. It's easier to find that perfect book as we read great fourth grade novels. Once they have an author they like, they can find every book we have by that author.

With the TPT gift card, I've been able to enlarge our guides for book clubs, so that students can read in groups.

Students have begun making their own goals for reading this year, as we aim for 30 novels each. When they reach their goal, they get a magnetic bookmark to keep their place in their current novel.

    Books change the world!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Saldana

  • Reading Rockstars

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

I'm so excited to have our class sets of books organized into bins to safely store them until we use them during the year. They are neatly stacked in the back of our room!

Our library looks amazing. All of our library books are neatly arranged by author's last name in brand new bookshelves, easily accessible to our class. This will make it so much easier for students to find other books by authors they've already learned to love! We have labels on every book, so that they are easy to re-shelve.

I can't wait to see how these new resources affect our coming school year!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Saldana

  • Fourth Grade Reading Stars

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for the lovely new novels our classroom is enjoying! We recieved 3 class sets of novels, with Spanish copies for our Spanish readers. We've just begun reading The One and Only Ivan.

Using this novel, we will learn about some big ideas, like empathy for others and caring for animals. We will also learn about drawing inferences, theme & first-person narration.

Though all of these standards are important, my goal is always to imbue in students a love of reading that will last a lifetime. Your gift has given me 3 wonderful novel sets to help students see through the eyes of others and ignite a desire to be a reader that will last the rest of their lives.

"A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one." -George R.R. Martin, A Dance with Dragons”

  • Rocking Reading

    Funded Apr 29, 2018

My students are enjoying the Kindles you so generously provided. They have been excited to build their own libraries in Epic! and read all their favorite books. We've also explored several phonics game apps. Independent reading is on the rise in Room 2!

One of my students, Aaron, who was a particularly reluctant reader, is now devouring books on the Kindle. He's especially fond of audio books he can read along with and interactive books. His reading level has increased significantly in only a few months!

Thank you so much for your gift to our classroom. You are helping my students develop a love of reading that will last them far beyond elementary school.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Saldana

By utilizing these Kindle tablets with protective cases in our classroom, my students will have wider access to books and literacy resources. Students will be able to create their own reading lists, see suggestions from other students and from me, explore different types of literature, and interact with books. They will use the tablets during our free choice time. Kids love to be in charge of their own learning! By targeting specific reading levels and allowing students a wider variety in their book choices, students will experience success in reading. A kid who learns to love reading is a learner all their life!
