The Gift of a Book
Funded Jan 25, 2017My students and I would like to thank you for your generous donations to our class. I cannot tell you what a pleasure it was to open up these new books and read them. No more pages falling out or missing! Thanks to you we didn't have to share a book with a partner and I even had enough to let students check them out for at home use.
Both of these novels are my favorite and after reading them in class, they became favorites of my students too! We just could not have this without your help!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Nitto
Chromes, Chromes and More Chromes
Funded Jan 20, 2017I wanted to thank you for donating chromes to our classroom. In the 21st century technology is so important! We don't just use the chromes to take state on, we use them all aspects for the classroom environment. We use them to write our essays, complete Google Classroom assignments and to research projects.
Without your help we would not be able to do any of the above mentioned assignments. I am very lucky as a teacher to have almost a one-to-one device in my classroom. With each donation that reality can come true.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Nitto
This classroom project was brought to life by Google.org and 3 other donors. It's a Reading Thing
Funded Nov 16, 2016We cannot begin to thank you for your wonderful donation! Our books were literally falling apart in our hands. Thanks to your contribution we have new books to use next year. I have read this book for over three years now and my students really love the story. They can identify with the characters Bobby and Alicia; they seem like real people to my students. They liked the book so much they want me to buy the next two in the series. Without donors like yourself, I would not be able to extend my love of literature to my students.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Nitto
Nothing Feels Better Than a Book in Your Hand
Funded Mar 10, 2016My 8th grade students and I would like to thank you all for the new books! They were very excited to The Outsiders and Things Not Seen; these are two of their favorite novels that we have read this year. Many of these books we read this year were "well loved" and so they really enjoyed as one student said, "The smell and feel of a new book!". We will all enjoy them for the next few years until they become "well loved" also. We would not have The Outsiders and Things Not Seen for future use without the support of people like you.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Nitto
This classroom project was brought to life by #BestSchoolDay and one other donor. The Westing Game + Amazing Students = Loving English Class!
Funded Mar 3, 2015I wanted to thank each and everyone of you for donating the novel The Westing Game to my class. My students really enjoyed reading this novel. My students were able to make real life connects with the characters in this book. We used them to analyze quotes and to study the various themes in the novel. At the end they were able to write an essay about one of the theme's in the story.
With money short in our schools, it is always wonderful to know there are people in and around our community willing to to donor vital resources like novels to the public school system.”

A Passion for Reading!
Funded Mar 3, 2015This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donations to my classroom. The novels Petty Crimes and Schooled that you donated have greatly helped my students with their love of literature.
We have used them to teach different concepts in our classroom; like similes and metaphors. I have also used both novels to teach plot, theme and analyze quotes. The stories were interesting to my students so doing these types of assignments were fun.
I feel novels like these enhance the learning of my students because they can relate to the characters that the authors created. In doing so they were able to make deeper connections with the literature that they might not have been able to do with another story.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Nitto
