  • Do You Hear What I Hear? Class Headphones!

    Funded Feb 19, 2022

Wow! I am so ecstatic to see our class project has been fully funded! Our students will greatly enjoy the headphones and will now be able to focus, explore, and learn better while using their digital devices!!! Thank you for your support. I’m so grateful and the students will be surprised when the new headphones arrive!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Q.

  • Quench Our Thirst For Learning!

    Funded Oct 30, 2021

We can't thank you ENOUGH for helping to fund our campaign to provide our students with reusable water bottles and quality pencils! Our scholars will be so excited to learn that they will EACH be getting their own water bottle and quality pencils to write with! We will also be curbing single-use plastic waste in our classroom by reducing the amount of single-use plastic bottles purchased and brought to class. We appreciate each and every one of you for your donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Q.

  • A Tote Full of Reading Adventures!

    Funded Nov 1, 2019

When the bags arrive, my third graders were so excited to be able to pick the color of their reading tote bags! They took great pride in filling their bags with books from our classroom library each week to take home and read each and every night. In turn, the baggies keep the books safe from tears or spills or curious younger siblings and kept the books organized for the kids. As part of their homework, the kids showed up with their reading tote bags every day, even when it wasn't their turn to book shop.

Once the schools were closed, due to Covid-19, each student was able to keep their tote bag. Hopefully it will be something they continue to use as they venture to parks or even visit family members and may want to pack a book or 2 to read. The bags are great quality and will be reusable for years to come!

I thank all of our donors for supporting our students and supplying our class with these sturdy reading tote bags!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Q.

We want the students in our inclusive classroom to have access to the best of both worlds: digital and paper/print. So we are requesting 2 Chromebooks and a class subscription to Time for Kids magazing. My co-teacher and I want our students to understand that there are different modes of learning and accessing information. We are not a "one size fits all" classroom and our resources need to reflect the different learning styles in our classroom. Our classroom was set up with a Promethean interactive board last June and the Chromebooks will help the students access the different programs the board offers. They will be able to digitally access information as well as participate in lessons. The Time for Kids magazines will be the paper print students can still tangibly access in a time of tablets and smart phones. Not only will students be able to read up on current events and learn to form opinions backed up with details from a text, but they will be able to take an individual issue home with them to share with their families and use for their nightly reading assignments. We expect students to read at home, but often times they don't always have the resources to do so. Now they will be able to take home their own copy of a magazine. These materials will motivate our students to continue to come to school and learn. We have been encouraging students to find their voice and use it - in their speaking, in their writing, in all of their academics!
