Our school is nestled in a small off the road village in Bush, Alaska . All our girls are native Alaskan Yup'ik Eskimos. The school is so small that we need to dip into each of the 6th, 7th and 8th grade classes to field a 6 person middle school volleyball roster. To travel to away games, there are two options. If the opponents town is close and on the river, the team can pile in a skiff and make their way up or downstream. Otherwise, the team travels in style on an Alaska bush taxi airplane.
