  • Raised Planters To Avoid The Groundhog!!

    Funded Jul 1, 2015

Thank you very much for your generous donation!! The raised beds that we were able to purchase have really helped to enhance the garden program at our school. Our students love to garden and we have integrated our garden program into our grade three through five curriculum. Unfortunately we have a very determined groundhog who loves to eat the fruits of our labor. So the raised planters will really help us to combat our groundhog friend.

In addition, we will be able to bring the raised planters into the school during the winter and use them indoors. The children will be able to watch the growth process and learn about the parts of the plant and their function. I can't think of a better way to learn than that!!

Thank you again for your generosity! I know that our garden program would not thrive the way that it has without wonderful people like yourselves.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. MCCLOUD

  • Butterflies Invade our School!

    Funded Dec 4, 2014

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My students are extremely excited to be able to observe the butterfly lifecycle in the spring. This project is near and dear to my heart. I will be sharing the larva coupons with all of the classes that are involved with our garden program this year. So many students are going to have the opportunity to observe the caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies, and it is all thanks to you!

Learning about living things and lifecycles is not an easy concept to teach. However, these resources are going to make it so much easier! The children from our past classes remember the science concepts taught in conjunction with the project for years to come. I am very thankful that you are continuing to provide our current students with the same opportunity. I can't thank you enough for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. MCCLOUD

  • Enhancing our Learning with Gardening!

    Funded Dec 29, 2013

I would like to thank you for the generous donation of science materials to our school garden program. We have received the pond ecosystems and the hydroponic gardens and we are using them in our classrooms. The students absolutely love working with the materials and are learning a great deal by watch the pond ecosystem grow and flourish.

These materials are wonderful and they are really allowing us to bring our science lessons to life. The students are gaining knowledge and are becoming critical thinkers with the aid of the ecosystems and hydroponic gardens. We would not have been able to purchase items like these without generous donations from people like you.

I thank you again, and the teachers and students who are using these materials thank you as well. Our instruction has been greatly enhanced and we can't thank you enough!”

  • Third Grade Reading Comprehension

    Funded Aug 21, 2013

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the generous donation you have made to my students. The comprehension journals are truly beneficial and are being used each and every morning to begin our day. Just the other day one of my students said, "Cause and effect was so hard in the beginning of the year and now I am so much better at it!"

Every morning the children come in and open up the journals to complete their morning do now and I am reminded of your kind donation. These journals allow the children to practice specific reading skills each and every day. With the help of these resources the children are learning to read on or above grade level and they are learning to analyze texts!

Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. The reading journals are truly enhancing the students' learning and are a very valuable resource in my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

  • We Need Creatures Great and Small!

    Funded Aug 29, 2010

Thank you very much for your generous donation! All of the donated supplies will truly bring our butterfly unit to life. Without generous people like you, this project would not have such a strong impact on our students and future students to come. The butterfly life cycle bingo game is extremely useful when teaching this unit, and the best part of this donation is the live butterfly larva. There is no better way to teach science than to actually observe it while it is happening. We cannot thank you enough for providing our students with that opportunity.

Thank you again for your fantastic and generous donation, we truly appreciate all of the resources and your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. MCCLOUD

  • Schoolgrown Vegetables Taste Better!!!!

    Funded Apr 2, 2010

This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The tabletop garden that you funded is being used by our students every day! We have used it to sprout seeds and to plant vegetables indoors. Our students were able to see how long it takes the seeds to sprout and what they need to grow. Thanks to your donation my students are able to experience science instead of just reading about it.

Our district is currently facing a budget shortfall and without your generosity our students would have never had these resources. We feel that science is an important topic for all children to learn about and experience.

Without donors like you, thousands of children in the United States would go without. Thank you very much for your kindness and generosity! ”

  • African American and Women Hero T-Shirts!

    Funded Apr 23, 2009

I would like to thank all of you for your generous donations. It is wonderful people like you that make it possible to educate our children appropriately! We used the t-shirts to create African-American Hero t-shirts. First we did research on specific African Americans, then we created and printed iron-ons, and then when the shirts were done the children wore them to school and shared all of their knowledge with the class. We researched Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama, Rosa Parks, Jackie Joyner Kersee, Joe "Box" Brown, and Harriet Tubman.

We would like to thank you again for making this project possible! It is projects like these that help to make history real for the children. You have truly made a difference!”

    With gratitude,

  • Gardening 101 for Brookside Beauties!

    Funded Dec 4, 2008

I cannot tell you how excited I was to open up the e-mail this morning that said our garden project had been funded! I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is people like you that help us to educate our children using hands-on learning experiences. This type of learning lasts a lifetime, and you helped to make this possible! Thank you again; you do not know how much we truly appreciate your kindness.

    Sincerely,

    Samanth”
