  • Life In Trees

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

Thank you so much for your amazing donations. Our students were so excited to receive our new supplies for our tree theme. We added them to our dramatic play area and had them pretend to be bird-watchers, naturalists, adventurers, and so much more. They love to care for the new animals with our Veterinarian supplies and use the binoculars to search for the animals.

Now that our Tree theme is over, we are using our new stuffed Monkey in a new way. We named him Marvin the Marvelous Monkey and when a student has been showing exemplary behavior, they get to carry him and be our line leader. They love this responsibility!

We also have thoroughly enjoyed our new felt tree and all it's accessories. It comes with seasonal items so that we can use it throughout the year!

Thank you again for all of your generosity!”

  • End of the Year Goodies!

    Funded Apr 3, 2023

Thank you so much for your wonderful donations! With your help we were able to complete our project. We use our individual trays every morning after breakfast for transitional work and in the afternoon for our small groups. It has helped us to keep our materials separate and work on personal space.

The students were especially happy to see all of our new magnatiles! We had a few pieces before but they were so popular that not many students could use them at once. Now with all of our new pieces we can build more and extravagant creations!

We received these materials at the end of last year when all our students could write their name on their own whiteboard. We are starting next week with our whiteboards and new dry erase markers so our new 3 year olds can write their names!”

  • Mindfulness Matters

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous contributions! We love our new books. Everyday we read a Social-Emotional book in the morning to start our day with a positive outlook. We talk about our emotions, how everyone feels strong emotions from time to time, and what to do with these strong emotions. I love hearing our student's ideas in solving problems from the stories. One of the books, What Would Danny Do, lets us choose how he acts to see what the outcome is. Our students enjoy getting to see Danny make good choices, and sometimes mistakes.

Thank you so much for helping me teach our students to navigate the social aspects of Preschool!”

  • Learning Toys!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you so much for your contributions to our project. When we opened the materials, the students were ecstatic! They could not wait to use everything. The cash register was an instant hit. We had to create a sign up sheet for the first week, where the students practiced writing their names in order to use the register for 10 minutes at a time.

We love taking the chalk outside to practice our letters. We write the student's names to trace, draw hopscotch, and lots of rainbows! Everyone also loves the letters that transform into robots. Everyone was so excited that we now have transformers in the classroom!

We appreciate all of your help and support. Our students are so grateful to receive new materials.”

  • New Year, New Technology!

    Funded Sep 18, 2021

Thank you so much for our new CD player and CDs. We just switched classrooms this year and the CD player in the classroom was not working. I love having music in our classroom. We use it for welcoming the students, movement during Circle Time, calming down during naptime, dancing to get the sillies out, and so much more!

When we showed our students what we received and told them how we were going to use them, they were ecstatic. Our students this year are dancers! They love to move all day long (as most 3 year-olds do). The love the KidzBop CD for our Fun Friday dance parties.

We are beginning our Music Together lessons tomorrow and we will be using our new CD. An outside instructor will bring in instruments to teach lessons to our students. They will be using our CD player to play background music for them to play along with. We are excited to start! Thank you again for your contributions!”

  • Project Projector!

    Funded Sep 18, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous contributions. We made so many wonderful virtual lessons last year, that I wanted to be able to use them in the classroom on occasion. Since receiving our projector we have used it a lot! During Circle Time, we use it to watch our Good Morning song and follow along with the dance movements. We ask questions during this time about our theme, such as " what are different types of balls?" and "How can we use balls?". We then can supplement our learning by watching a fun video or listen to a song about balls, using our projector.

Our students love the excitement and newness of watching something on "the big screen". They get so excited: they jump, yell, and smile when they see us bring it out. They especially love that when the weather is bad, that we can still exercise and have fun inside. We watch yoga videos, exercise letter videos, and much more to get our movement in!

We have some students that are shy and have never seemed interested in dancing, music, or movement during Circle Time. However, using the projector and having something colorful, exciting, and new to follow along with, has really brought out the dancers in them! Thank you again for helping our classroom learn and grow.”

    Mrs. Parker

  • Books Galore!

    Funded May 4, 2021

Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom library. This past year I switched schools and in my new classroom, we do not have any books. Books are incredibly important to all students but especially to such young students as mine, who are just learning the importance of reading.

We read multiple books a day to our students to help them learn about the parts of a book, reading comprehension skills, expand their vocabulary, and much more. My students this year loved to read a story a few times then act out the story. Each student would ask to be a certain character and then create a puppet to use. It was so much fun to see the kid's imaginations come to life.

Thank you again for your help. I can't wait to read these books with my next group of students!”

  • Visual Learning for Virtual Learning

    Funded Apr 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our classroom! With virtual learning last year, we were constantly evolving and learning new teaching methods. Having an IPad and the Osmo allowed me to project what I was doing on my desk to the screen so my students could see. My students loved being able to see me draw and write firsthand.

With going back in person this year, having an IPad will be wonderful for hands on learning. The Osmo comes with activities that allow the students to play games that are fun, interactive, and educational. The students especially love the game where they make letters and items using the plastic game pieces it comes with.

I love being able to provide the opportunity to my students to experience new technology. I also love being able to see their excited faces as they create and play along with the games. Thank you again for helping to make this possible!”

  • Hands on Virtual Learning!

    Funded Sep 25, 2020

Thank you so much for your wonderful contributions to our project! Virtual learning has been quite an experience for me and my students. Our new resources have helped us tremendously! When we received the materials, we set up a socially distanced pickup for our students at the school. They were so excited to see the Play-Doh, whiteboards, and markers especially. We are asked everyday when they can draw or create something with the Play-Doh.

We use our materials to work on our letter of the day, where we practice writing the letter and then draw something that starts with that letter. I apologize for the pictures not being very clear! Taking pictures virtually is also a learning experience! In the first picture is one of our students drawing an alligator for the letter A. We also use our Play-Doh to practice counting. We show the student's a number, they copy the letter on their whiteboard then they make that many balls with the Play-Doh.

Using these materials we are able to come up with endless ideas for activities, and are able to keep them engaged in our lessons. I hope you have a wonderful New Year, and thank you again!”

My students come from homes where technology is not an integral part of their life. Most of them have never used, let alone seen, an iPad or a computer. This also goes along with the entire school. My students are four years old. This is an age where students are able to learn at a fast pace, are excited to learn and love to come to school. My students come to school everyday with a smile on their face, because they know this is a fun, safe, learning environment. They constantly ask questions, want to know more, love to be active, and love new technology. They are learning social aspects of life, such as communicating, expressing their feelings, and telling each other what they like and don't like.
