12 students, 2 grades, 1 classroom… Groups are key!

I am the Math Coach for PS7. In my role, I get to work with some amazing teachers and truly lovable students. Our school was fortunate this year to acquire a brand new teacher, Ms. Lubin. The passion that this young educator brings to her work is inspiring. The respect that she has for her students and her classroom is admirable.

Ms. Lubin has 5 first graders and 6 second graders in a bridged self-contained special education class. She is tasked to teach two grade levels for mathematics, no easy task. In order to better structure her classroom and to foster more engagement and support student focus, I asked wonderful donors, such as yourselves, to help. And thank you to your wonderful generosity, Ms. Lubin and. her students received two kidney shaped tables for grouping.

The students, teacher, and paraprofessionals, in the classroom were so excited when their new tables were delivered and assembled! Math time became easier, focus is stronger, and the students are more engaged! Your thoughtfulness and kindness has helped this class and will continue to do so for years to come. Thank you, again.”
