Working Together CAN Be a Picnic...with the Right Table!
Funded Aug 6, 2015Thank you so very much for donating to my project which resulted in a brand new, long lasting picnic table for my students. When the table arrived a helpful dad volunteered to quickly assemble the table so it was ready and waiting when the students arrived on the first day of school. Students and teachers alike commented on the new table, especially the quality which will allow countless students, in many classes, to use the table over the years to come.
My students have used the table to read books, work on reading comprehension on iPads, discuss articles about the Apollo missions, play reading project board games together, and peer edit their writing. The table has also been used by other teachers in the hall as their classes learn outside the classroom as well. Having this picnic table has expanded our learning environment and provided extra space for group work.
My students have had the opportunity to work on academic skills as well as collaboration and teamwork in this area outside the classroom. Thank you for caring about my classroom, my students, and our school by donating to my project.”

Printing the Perfect Nutritional Garden
Funded Oct 31, 2014Thank you so much for caring about our students and donating of your resources to allow us to now have a wonderful color printer for our classroom. This resource has allowed us to extend our learning in new and creative ways and made learning an enjoyable and memorable experience. The students were thrilled when the printer and cartridges arrived as they were not happy when they wanted to print their work and it came out only black and white!
This printer was used by students when they planted a nutritious vegetable garden and conducted STEM activities to learn more about plants and a healthy lifestyle. It was also used when we conducted research on Florida's native species and used printable fabric to make quilt squares showing our animals' habitats. This printer will be a valuable resource for many more students in the years ahead.
Our school's students have benefited from using this printer as a part of their learning in many subject areas covering both ELA and math standards. Practice in technology skills, research skills, and presentation skills were all accomplished with the addition of this valuable resource. Thanks so much for caring about the students at Cypress Ridge!”
