Most of my students come from low income families. They cannot afford the supplies necessary for class, much less special projects. The money I receive at the beginning of the year ($250.00) goes towards pencils, paper, binders and notebooks, which I give to the kids as needed. They are wonderful kids and most are eager to learn, however, problems at home often distract them from their lessons. Anything I can do to keep their attention and focus is helpful. This includes the simple use of colored paper for foldables and handouts.
