From Old Tech to High Tech!
Funded Dec 2, 2020Wow! You are such an amazing group of individuals, and I am so thankful to you for your hearts of generousity! This project could have never happened without all of you.
Just wait until I tell my students about the new desktop computer and headphone set I will soon have to make teaching them so much smoother, clearer, and quicker as we move from activity to vidoe, from website to website, and from tool to tool all in one session at times. Thank you for this valuable and much needed equipment you have placed in my hands, that we might enrich our learning experience togther during these challenging times. Again, THANK YOU so much for supporting our class!”

Funded Oct 28, 2019Thank you so very much for your contribution! This couldn't have come at a better time! Many of our mini white boards are so overused that the marker stains, scratches, and chips have made it difficult for students to show work on. In addition, we just had a class discussion about needing an extra set of mini whiteboards for one of the small groups. That way students don’t have to lug around so many extra materials during group rotations. Students have also been eagerly waiting to get new privacy boards. They have become quite fond of using them to monitor their own focus and privacy during independent work time and testing. Lastly, I am forever grateful for the chair socks! It can be a real challenge to get through group rotations and daily routines with the sound of screeching chairs blaring. Thank you so much! Happy holidays to you and yours and may the new year be filled with many blessings!”

Funded Jun 13, 2015I just wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the role you have played in enhancing my students' learning. Because of the computers purchased through your donations, my students have become increasingly independent in obtaining information through the Internet. Currently, my students use the computers to answer short research questions, further their knowledge on articles we have read, sign onto math programs like Gigi Math, and explore websites like Brain Pop.
In the next couple of weeks, we will begin to explore a computer program for coding geared toward kids. When I shared about this up coming project with my students, their faces lit up with excitement at the thought of using the computers to create simple commands that could allow characters to ice skate in different directions in a winter wonderland setting. This is a similar concept to that which college students currently use in their own classrooms. My hope is that new experiences like this one, will spark the curiosity of some of my students to further explore the world of computer science.
Thank you for your generosity and willingness to invest in the lives of my students' education. It is individuals like you that bring about many of these wonderful changes in the classroom. Your kindness has made a difference!”
