I teach at a small rural school with amazing kids. Our school is comprised of a large population of Native American children and significant percentage of students who are on free and reduced lunch. This is my third year teaching third grade; the four years before that I was an elementary Math Specialist. I try to teach in engaging ways using songs, games, books, technology, and station work. Students often work in small groups, large group, partners, and independently. My students love to practice their learning though different mediums. At this age students need to be able to move around and discuss with classmates their thinking. Games, projects, and station work provides students these opportunities to learn in ways they enjoy.
