  • New Beginnings for Kindergarten!

    Funded Jul 23, 2011

Thank you SO much for your generous donations to my classroom! The day the boxes arrived was like Christmas for my students. Even though some of the items, like the spaceman spacers, we won't use until after the new year, the kids were cheering and just thrilled to see as I took them out of the boxes.

Because this is my second year teaching kindergarten, I knew there were some items I knew I needed for my class. The magnetic wipe off boards are used constantly! We use them for whole group activities, building with magnetic letters and center activities. The table caddies are great because now each table has a color name that matches their sign and caddy. The posters are displayed through out my classroom to inform administration of our daily goals and to help students follow routines. The lacing animals are used frequently to improve small motor skills during our entry time in the morning.

Again, thank you so much! I feel so lucky that there are so many generous people out there who see the challenges teachers face today and choose to help! ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Woolsey

  • Making Literacy Fun!

    Funded Dec 6, 2010

Thank you so much for your very generous donation to my classroom. The kids are really enjoying using our new materials. We use the green pocket chart daily in our phonics lessons. Also, kids sort words, pictures, and letters on the pocket chart independently. We've listened to both books multiple times and the kids keep asking to, "Read it again!" We also used the ABC stamps to practice our sight words and word families. It is so great to have these items because they are high quality so I know I will be able to use them for years to come. The kids really respect and take care of the items because we've had discussions about how many special people gave them to us. Thank you again! You're appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

  • Listening Tree For Kindergarten

    Funded Dec 3, 2009

This letter is to thank each of you for your generous donations. My students are truly enjoying and benefiting from our new listening center. They are so excited to put on the new headphones and listen to their favorite stories.

This listening center is so helpful for my students. They use it during centers during in our day. Its often loud during this time because all the kids are engaged in learning activities. With these headphones the kids listening to the stories don't hear the other students and can focus on their book. I used to just play the story CD's on the class CD player and the other kids would have to be quiet so the listening center student could hear the story.

Thank you again! My classroom's learning environment has really improved with the new listening center!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Woolsey

  • We Love to Read!

    Funded Nov 30, 2009

I am so thankful for the new items in my classroom. The students are really enjoying their new materials. I think their favorite might be the stories on CD. They get into the music and are able to retell the story after listening to it! They love the puzzles and I often use them in whole group lessons too! I am so pleased with having Weekly Reader in my classroom. I feel that it gives my young students an idea of what is going on in the word. Also, at reading level of the magazines gives them confidence in their own reading.

Thank you again for your generous donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Woolsey
