Express Yourself Through Poetry!
Funded Jan 14, 2010I cannot thank you enough for your donations that allowed us to receive this wonderful poetry book. The day our Love That Dog books arrived in our classroom, all I saw was excitement and enthusiasm from my students. The students have been able to use this book to understand poetry as well as help them express their thoughts through writing poetry.
The students have been able to make a personal connection to the characters within this book which has helped with their motivation. Their vocabulary, writing and comprehension skills have improved immensely because of being exposed to this text.
Again, I can't thank you enough for what you have done for these children and without your help they wouldn't be enjoying such wonderful poetry!
Thank you so much!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Bloodworth
This classroom project was brought to life by John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and 9 other donors. There's Something Fishy Here!
Funded Dec 4, 2009Dear Christina, Barry and Amy, Mrs. B, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Anonymous Donors,
I am writing to thank you for your very generous donation. Our school district has been struggling financially lately and it is donations and gifts like yours that help our school system flourish in such an economic down time. This donation is not only appreciated by our classroom, but our entire elementary school! Your donation makes us the only classroom in the school that has a pet. Most of our students do not have pets at home. This is an opportunity for the children to learn how to take responsibility themselves as well as others. Each day we have students feed our two fish, Allie and D.J. The children love to watch them swim and eat in their free time. Each day the children enjoy recording what they see each day in the fish tank. Thank you so much! ”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Bloodworth
