Let's Google that, on Our New Laptops!
Funded Dec 20, 2016Thank you so much for the Chromebooks. Our students generally appreciate them and are benefiting from technological educational experiences they are being provided. It is exciting to see our students wanting to participate in researching, and fostering their learning. The students are increasingly more engaged and value this opportunity that they otherwise would not be able to have.
Some of the students who were impacted most are the ones with special needs and our English language learners. They are now able to access difficult curriculum in a hands-on, interactive way. The students love the touchscreen and the ability to be used like tablet! This excites many students an further engages them in their learning. They use educational websites like Brain Pop, Flocabulary, Discover Education and other educational APPs to make connections and build background knowledge.
We really appreciate your generosity and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Williams
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words! Especially One in Color
Funded Dec 29, 2014We cannot thank you enough for supporting our students with your generous donation. A picture really is worth a thousand words, especially one in color! This color printer has brought color into our students' lives!
Many students who do not have access to color printers at home now are able to have color pictures to add to reports and projects. The students in a forth grade class I work with were so excited to choose pictures to print for their animal Infographics (as see in the pictures). They kept thanking me for making that possible for them, and I send those thanks your way! The projects came out beautiful and the students did a great job picking out visuals to make information clearer for the reader.
Many of the ESL teachers in my department have been making the difficult Common Core Curriculum more accessible to our English language learners by creating colorful scaffolds and visual vocabulary. I have been printing out leveled guided reading books for my students. I can see the excitement in my students' eyes when I arrive with these color guided reading books. These books are so valuable because students can write in them. Students label pictures and define vocabulary, then take them home to keep!
These are just a few examples of how your generosity has had an impact on our students' lives. This printer has been a wonderful addition to our school and we are grateful from the bottoms of our hearts!!!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Williams
