My students come from a title one school, meaning that they have the lowest income area in the district. Additionally, almost every student comes from a single family home where the parent works or from a home where both parents work, resulting in an unfortunate lack of homework help or academic focus. That being said, I have one of the happiest classes I have ever worked with. They are kind to one another, stick up for each other out of the room, and actually hardly ever complain about assignments, which is always a plus! They are hard workers and great friends.
