Show it, Share it!
Funded Jan 25, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity. We have been able to use the projector in the classroom to share students work. They love to share their journal entries as well as pictures that they draw. They also love to use any kind of technology. With the projector they were able to use both of those things. We have also used it to display and view items found on journeys. It was a second teacher to myself when we had to go remote on more than one occasion. I was able to easily share the book I was reading, collaboratively make patterns and draw with my students while we were all virtual. This Elmo Projector has been an asset in our learning this year!”

With Cricut, the Possibilities are Endless!
Funded Jun 3, 2020Thank you for you amazing donations. We have been able to use it in so many ways over these last few months. We have been able to use the cricut in more ways than I could have ever expected. I am looking forward to finding more ways to use it in the classroom. We have been able to not only make our boards in the classroom more personal but we are able to change them with each new learning topic or theme. Each student has been able to customize name plates and family gifts. It has been so exciting watching students get involved in the creativity and I look forward to using it in many more ways.”

Help! I Can't Find My Spot!
Funded Nov 3, 2019Many thanks for helping us to acquire a new rug for our classroom. The children were so excited to see a bright and colorful new rug. It is big and spacious and enables the children to sit comfortably while playing, reading and gathering for group meetings.
Since this is an "alphabet rug" the children often play letter games by finding letters from their own names and their classmates' names. I also appreciate that the squares within the rug help define each child's individual space during group meetings and story time.
Once again, thank you so much for your donation.”

Creating an Art Atelier: Empowering Students Through Art!
Funded Jun 2, 2016Thank you so much to all our donors for helping us fulfill our class project. Materials have the potential to draw you in, make you want to stay a while, explore, try new things, create and wonder. Organization is essential to creating a functional and beautiful learning environment. In order to empower my students through art we need adequate storage. Art and exploration is an important part of our classroom and school philosophy. We now have a wonderful closet that enables us to put materials away that are not being used any more as well as have easy access to materials that suddenly sparked and interest. The class can now begin creating wonderful things through their inquiry exploration and I can better assist them in gathering materials to help further their exploration when a sudden interest is sparked and ideas are forming in their minds! The desire to question, hypothesize, explore, and investigate is part of their very being. My students needed suitable storage to house their varied learning materials so that meaningful learning can happen. With all your contributions to this project we are now able to better achieve this goal. My students enjoy investigating objects that are acquired on class journeys or contributed by our students and their families. With this closet they are now able to use these resources that will help me to empower my students through art by giving us the opportunity to collect, observe, discover, and work with materials.”

Help Exercise Our Senses!
Funded Oct 28, 2015I can't fully express my joy and excitement for your donations to this project. From the bottom of my heart thank you. It's overwhelming how quickly this project reached its goal.
The tools that you have funded will enable the different types of young learners in my class to explore, experiment and make sense of the world around them. The difference you have made will reach far beyond this school year but for years to come.
Since we have received the light table there has been a renewed joy in exploring colors, shapes, shadows and even textures. Watching the joy in their face every day when they are using the light table has brought the teachers joy as well. Their excitement when they yell, "Look at how this changes colors, look what happens now!" has really brought joy to everyone looking on! Using the sound blocks at the light table has engrossed all the learners as they build with colors and hear the sounds the blocks make as they build and watch things change. As we began reading The Three Little Pigs, I watched as those very blocks became beautiful, colorful houses to keep out the Big Bad Wolf and protect the pigs from danger, as they retold the story over and over again to their friends. They began telling their own stories at the light table, using the blocks and magnet tiles to build a fortress to protect the other animals.
With the light table they began taking their own initiative to explore objects and see how it changes and looks on the light table. They collected objects around the class, brought paper and crayons and began diving into their own learning, taking it where they wanted it.
The musical instruments have been a lovely noisy introduction to the classroom. They are able to show me the things they have learned in music class, and then teach the others how to make patterns with music. We've explored how the instruments make different sounds, feel different, and look different.
The big books have helped the whole class get engrossed in the stories, because now everyone can see the pictures and everyone can feel like a part of the experience together. The class loves to take the big books and look at them with a partner. They love to help turn the pages and share in the experience with everyone.
They love to explore and learn new things. Step into our classrooms and you will witness the magic of self-directed leaning. These young learners approach the world with great curiosity and use their senses to help understand it. Hands-on explorations help them to develop many important skills and process a lot of information. The light table, musical instruments and big books have brought that into out classroom and for that I am so grateful to you.”

Creative Corner Needed!
Funded Oct 10, 2014Words cannot even begin to describe how grateful my students and I are for your gift. The whole mood has changed due to our new easels. It's made the learning environment more welcoming and warm, a tangible difference from our beige furniture. The easels arrived and were put together before the class had arrived for the day. When they came in that morning, all the students immediately ran to each easel and asked what it was and when they could use it.
Since the arrival of our new easels, morning meeting has begun to change and become more engaging. Each child is excited to go up to the easel and complete activities with the class during morning meetings and circle time. We are now able to play educational games together with the entire class because now everyone can clearly see what we are doing from their seat. They enjoy coming up to the easel to play "teacher" and directing the class on how the activity will proceed.
The painting easel draws the students in to express themselves in a new and interesting way. They are excited to create such a large piece of artwork that can be hung up at home or in our class. They express the things they have learned by painting or drawing things such as large firehouses, after our trip, or by making their own family portraits. The painting easel has also brought about another example of taking turns and waiting for your turn. The class has also begun painting pictures together at the easel. The look on heir faces after completing a work of art together, which is then displayed in the class, is priceless. It encourages all the students to work together to create something so beautiful on their own. From the bottom of my heart, and my class, we thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Christine
