  • Moving To A Self Contained Classroom!

    Funded Jul 31, 2024

I am so extremely overwhelmed with gratitude! I was facing a daunting task of changing over my classroom after 10 years of teaching one subject your donations have set my mind at ease! The kids will thrive with the organization and we can concentrate on learning and having fun while we do!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lasek

  • Help Us Hear the Math!

    Funded Dec 28, 2017

I want to take a moment to thank you and let you know how this donation has impacted our classroom. We are required to have the students spend at least 45 minutes of math per week on technology and then one time per quarter the kids must complete a diagnostic assessment using the same technology. When technology is working this is a wonderful concept. However, we were faced with the complication of old, outdated, and broken headphones, which made the whole process quite frustrating for many of the students. This is where you came in! Your donations purchased 27 brand new sets of headphones for my third graders!

Through your generosity I now have students who are anxious to go onto the computers and iPads to complete their math tasks. They no longer have to wait for me to get to them to read the questions or explain the directions, which gives them confidence as they don't need my help as often. My students also have a strong sense of responsibility as they take care of their own set of headphones, so they can be used for many years. Thank you so very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lasek

We are lucky enough to share tablets with the intermediate school (3rd and 4th grade) students! We utilize a math program that supplements my lessons. The students often get frustrated because the shared earbuds are older and they don't fit third graders well. Every student works at their own pace and it helps to be able to hear the questions or skills being read to them. With all the students being at different places in their reading and math skills (ESL, special needs, different abilities) its difficult to be able to read each question to them individually. We have tried to keep the volume on the tablets lower but it often interferes with other students' lessons. Believe me I know how lucky we are to have the technology, I am just looking for a way to improve upon my students' abilities to use them!
