  • Cultural Wakeup!

    Funded Dec 17, 2020

Thank you for impacting my students in a way I can not explain. Our youth have a heavy weight on their shoulders, not only are they dealing with a world pandemic but they are experiencing world pain relating to the massive amount of racial uprising and racial shake-ups. You are helping me meet my cultural awareness in the classroom (in-person and remote) goal. Today, my students are learning how to grow up not repeating the same cultural mistakes made by past generations.

Because of your generous donation, I am now able to build knowledge of cultural awareness in my classroom and in the school as a whole. I have built a cultural awareness library where my students select books and have cultural awareness discussion in partnership and in groups. We have also formed a cultural awareness book club where students not only in my classroom get to learn about important topics. Your donation of books, decorations, bulletin board designs, posters, banners, stickers and etc. will continue to have a positive impact on all the children who encounter them. They will enjoy these materials as their knowledge of cultural awareness heightens and their cultural pride strengthens. Again, thank you.”

  • Keeping Clean

    Funded Dec 17, 2020

Thank you for donating so many necessary items to my students this school year. Our youth have a heavy weight on their shoulders. They have to deal with a world pandemic and at the same time they are experiencing world pain relating to the massive amount of racial tension.

Because of your generous donation, we have cleaning supplies and personal protective gear (kid size face masks) which helps keep our classroom clean and the students safe when they are physically in the classroom. The ziplock bags are labeled and are being used to keep each student's personal items separate from others. Because of this, parents and children are thankful. The storage bins have been used to store away and keep clean learning materials and safety items. The other donated items have also helped my students during in-person learning and remote learning. We thank you for all this and more.”

  • New Classroom

    Funded Dec 16, 2020

Thank you for donating so many necessary items to my students this school year. Our youth have a heavy weight on their shoulders. They have to deal with a world pandemic and at the same time they are experiencing world pain relating to the massive amount of racial tension.

Because of your generous donation, I have been able to perform daily health checks on my in-person students by checking their temperature on the spot and then directing them to the school's health facility in an immediate fashion. Your donation of cleaning supplies helps me keep a clean and safe learning environment for my students. Because of this, parents and children were pleased. The storage bins have been used to store away and keep organized learning materials. This helps me quickly prepare lessons for my students with materials organized and at hand. The air pod is being used during remote lessons. They are convenient and they bring quality to the audio especially during Zoom and Google Classroom lessons. The other learning items have also helped my students during in-person learning and remote learning. We thank you for all this and more”

  • Return After COVID19

    Funded Dec 9, 2020

Thank you for donating so many necessary items to my students this school year. Our youth have a heavy weight on their shoulders. They have to deal with a world pandemic and at the same time they are experiencing world pain relating to the massive amount of racial tension.

Because of your generous donation, my students have been able to experience better audio quality with the use of a speaker system during daily lessons. They have been enjoying the speaker systems and they have been utilizing the microphones to help develop their voices during teaching and learning activities. My students have been reading more fluently since reading and practicing the Reader's theater scripts. They are using them during in-person and remote lessons. They are also continuing to build reading fluency on a daily basis with the help of the fluency cards. The other donated items are helping my students in other ways during in-person learning and remote learning. We thank you for all this and more.”

  • Safe and Clean

    Funded Aug 8, 2020

The impact that the Distance learning project has had on my remote learning and in-person learning classroom settings has been super fantastic. The supplies have helped me in my daily responsibilities as a classroom and remote teacher. The students were so excited to see all the supplies. The lesson planner, utility apron, caddies, and large bins have helped me organize in the classroom and in my home classroom. Remotely the headphones and computer device has helped me communicate more effectively with students. The caddies are used to transport materials from classroom to classroom and from school to home. My next step is to expand my home classroom.

In class, the students are using the drum heads to learn beats and during break times as a social-emotional tool. Our next step is to purchase additional musical instruments to start a small band. The magic boards are used and are fun for the students who need additional support in ELA. My next step is to purchase boards for my whole class because there are many fun ways these boards can be used for learning. Thank you so much from me and all my students.”

I would like to take this time to thank you so much for the school items you donated to my theater arts class. Unfortunately I received the order after the christmas show and christmas celebrations. The fortunate thing is that the supplies will be used in our 2020 celebration. The supplies can be used in preparation of the celebrations and during the celebrations as well. I can utilize them for our children whether we are remote or in school.

The children were excited when they saw the supplies. Some tried to encourage me to have another Christmas right then and there. I thank you so much and the children of

PS 65 Mother Hale Academy thank you as well. You are doing a wonderful thing by donating to our Bronx public schools.

    Stay safe.”

Students will need materials and resources which are in line with grade level CCLS. This year, our school has added this new high demand poetry segment to our literacy academic program. Lessons will be developed based on these selected poetry books. Such materials will help engage them in daily literacy lessons and activities. These materials will assist with organization, management, and consistency of daily lessons. Additionally, lessons will be constructed from these resources to help students gain the opportunity to delve deep into poetry study. This poetry study will ultimately assist with reading comprehension, fluency, and decoding. Moreover, this will be an upper grades structured literacy curriculum which will be designed to link with our student demographic background. It will include engaging lessons of rigor, deconstruction, and construction of the English language used with dictionaries and thesauruses. In conclusion, our final target will include lessons and activities synchronizing with college readiness preparations.
