Printer Ink Needed
Funded May 20, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donations. It allowed me to purchases toner for my printer. Having this toner has helped my students this year immensely. It allows me to print out the materials that my students need to learn.
In the digital world, students are often forgetful. While they are given DOE issued devices to use in order to navigate this new digital world, they often forget to bring their devices or they don't charge them. Having the toner allows me to print out the materials they need so they don't fall behind in their studies.
We really do appreciate your thoughtfulness and generous donations.”

Funded Dec 22, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. My students were so excited to receive the items in the mail. With COVID 19 changing the way we teach our students, this new technology is making this transition easier. The two I pads that were donated help those students who do not have a device to work with or they allow students who don't have a charged device or forget their device to participate in class. The newer Ipad model allows students to have the most up to date applications and video conferencing software. The headphones allow students to listen to digital books and watch educational videos that enhance the subjects they are learning.
The new printer in our classroom helps print out the documents that some students need to learn. Not every student thrives with technology. Some students need to learn using the old fashion paper and pencil method. Having this new printer allows those students to access the materials along with the rest of the class.
I am extremely grateful to each and every one of you for your thoughtfulness and for being so generous.”

Funded Feb 14, 2018Thank you so much for donating to my project, "Soaring into Reading Part 2." My students were so excited to receive these wonderful new additions to our classroom. We are currently preparing for the New York State ELA examination and are teaching students a variety of skills to be successful. With your help, and these new books, I am able to continue the instruction at home. Students have been working on reading comprehension, cause and effect, theme and textual evidence, questioning, predicting, and summarizing. Having outdated and "uninteresting" books made it harder for me to have students practice these skills on an independent level. Well, because of you, you made my job a lot easier. Students are more engaged in their reading. Their homework responses have become stronger and more in depth than ever before. There is a waiting list of all the new popular titles in my classroom library.
As you will be able to tell from the pictures, reading looks so much different now. We will be doing an author study after the ELA test and these books will be the key to its success. Students are completing books and book reports after they finish a book. The new books are all on my class's guided reading level so there are now plenty of interesting and engaging titles for the students to choose from. My 25 book challenge seems obtainable now because of your thoughtfulness and generosity. What is even more rewarding is my struggling readers are enjoying reading now. They are eager to sign out a book of their choice. Thank you is not enough to show my appreciation. I am excited to test the students now with the hope of their improvements in reading. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

Marvelous Mathematicians Need Math Games
Funded Dec 24, 2016I can not thank you enough for supporting my classroom project. These math games are just what my students need to boost their interest in math. With the New York State Math test approaching, we are always looking for new ways to keep the students engaged during the test preparation block. Many of my students need the extra support to grasp the different mathematical concepts and these math games are just the ticket to do so.
When the material arrived, the reaction on my students faces were priceless. Some of them said, "Finally, math is going to be fun now" or "I can't wait to play those games." Just seeing their reaction was worth starting this project. I am looking forward to seeing how they are going to improve with these games as an enhancement to my lessons.
Our next unit is a big one- fractions. These games are going to make learning fractions fun. I can not thank you enough for donating to my project. My students and I will be forever grateful.”

Soaring into Reading
Funded Dec 8, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. My students love the new titles. None of this could have been possible without your generous donations. Reading used to be a struggle in my classroom. We have a lot of outdated books which never captured my students interests. With your help, that has now changed. My students fight over the new books. They all want to get a chance to read our new additions.
Read Aloud looks a lot different in my class too. Jerry Spinelli is one of the authors that my children love. We have been working with Maniac Magee during our Friday read aloud block. The children, no matter what age, love to be read too. The materials that came along with it are a huge help too. The CD has been helpful with my ESL and lower level readers. The workbook gave me great ideas to challenge my higher level readers. My students are making better predictions, writing better summaries, and drawing conclusions. None of this could have been possible without your help. I will be forever grateful!”
