Teamwork Challenge
Funded Jan 24, 2024Thank you so much for donating the money to purchase the recess equipment. The students love using the penny's to play tag. This has provided opportunities for the students to play tag safer than before. The students have created teams and play tag at each recess. The impact is that students are running and exercising more. Students are also using the flag football sets and learning how to play fair. It is nice to see both boys and girls playing together.
Both additions to the playground activities have provided opportunities for students to play something other than soccer. More students are participating in activities other than standing around again allowing students to get exercise. All of these additional activities help students to be better prepared in the classroom. The results of better play at recess it being witnessed in the classroom by more focused learning.
Again, I thank you for your support in helping students at my school learn new skills during recess.”

Sensory Skills Assist in Learning
Funded Aug 25, 2023My students were very excited when they saw the new products. Most students have not figured out how to be the best learners that they can be. The wobble stools, cushions, foot cushions, and fidgets are helping them to learn what they need to focus.
Students wrote how the wobble stools helped them focus by not letting them slouch in their chairs and make sure that their brains are working to remember the information. The wobble cushions made them sit tall, relax and focus on what the teaching was teaching.
"I feel as though this is the first time I have been able to focus in school," said one student.
"The cubes and the magnetic tiles that we got help me to relax in the morning so that I can start out my day better ," said another student.
In my opinion the difference the students describe in their ability to listen and learn in class and self regulate really determine how they materials have positively affected their learning”

Funded Dec 2, 2021Thank you so much for helping support my students science learning and informational reading. We have been able to read several specific articles in the magazines and the students have enjoyed reading other articles.
We have used the articles to write informational text wrtiing ,summary writing and opinion writing. The students have enjoyed using the Super Science magazines to use for writing because they are relavant and interesting. The articles provide opportuniites for students to discuss topics and provide feedback to each other.
Students that are not normally readers are interested in reading these magazines. I am always so thankful when I am able to get these magazines to use for reading. The articles have very rich vocabulary and make the students think. I appreciate all the donations that help me provide these for my students learning because I would not be able to provide them otherwise. Thank you again.”

Funded Sep 8, 2021Thank you for the materials, the poster papers and markers have completely changed the dialogue in my classroom. Students are more open to discussions when they are able to express themselves. Since the students like to use the markers so well they like to use them for their discussions. We have been using the clipboards on a daily basis to use for discussions. I truly feel that with the inclusion of clipboards, poster paper and the markers my students have increased their conversations and dialogue about content. I use the poster paper and markers for my own instruction as well so students can identify important pieces of information.
Thank you so much for helping my students be successful.”

Funded Dec 2, 2020I truly want to thank you for your dedication to students learning. I was so pleasantly surprised how interested the students became in the study of civics by using the books I purchased. The study of civics came alive by using stories from kids perspectives and colorful books. The stories that included what to do if you are bullied, if you are discrimated against and what the laws are that protect each of us. We learned about the three branches of government and why we have rules at school. We were able to determine if rules were fair and what the process would be if the law was not fair. We discussed the rights that we have and that they are worth protecting. Again, thank you for helping me to bring the study of civics alive for my students.”

Funded Jan 28, 2020When I recieved the boxes my students were excited to even hear about what track was like at our school. I told them I would show them the next day, unfortuately for all of us that was the call to end school due to the Pandemic for the year. I was not able to coach track this year with this materials but, I am very excited to use them next year. I used my own children to show the materials and how to use them.
The reason that I wanted the materials for our students is that when we have attended the track meet our athletes did not know how to use the starting block so I wanted to close that gap. I wanted to let our athletes feel confident that they could compete with the other schools. I asked for the other materials such as the jump ropes and jumping spins so they could practice either alone or with others athletes while the coaches are busy. The timers were purchased so we could time more people at once and the slam ball was for the throwers. The slam ball is not something athletes at this level would probably have ever seen and will help with their upper body strength.
I am very thankful for the opportunity to use these materials with young athletes in the following years.”

Funded Dec 4, 2019There are many students that had not been interested in reading books until I received these picture books in spanish. I can see that they enjoy them because they will read them over and over with another friend. They will continue to go to the spanish book bin and choose to read these books. I enjoy the fact that they are reading books and will read them to me in spanish as well.
Some of the other books I chose had diverse students overcoming many aspects to become successful. These books are also very interesting to students that have not believed they could go to college or achieve great things in life.
Other books were about kids that have made a difference at community levels and so my students could see that they could have an impact on others as well. These books were about helping with the environment, or bullying or including others. These are all activities that they can participate in and make a difference, which is part of our social emotional learning.”

Funded Dec 3, 2019Thank you so much for this opportunity to use the Flocabulary program with my students. The songs and videos are very captivating and the students sing along with them building their vocabulary.
I have used a lot of the content videos and the student handouts that the program has to go along with the songs. Using this in conjunction with other areas of content have helped the students to build a better knowledge base for what we are studying. This knowledge comes out in their speaking and writing, when writing about a topic they seem much more capable of writing and expanding their thinking. When I ask them they will say they remember from a Flocabulary lesson.
The program itself has so many wonderful aspects the grades are from kindergarten to 8th with all content areas and then just vocabulary building for each grade level as well. I have used the vocabulary building lessons as well and it is so rewarding to hear the students replacing some over used words with words they have learned as part of this program.”

Funded May 7, 2019I can not entirely explain the impact that the Get your Teach On Conference has had on me. I am so excited for this year to begin and impact student lives with the new strategies that I learned and the people I met and have been following. I met teachers and administrators that I have been reading about and reading their books for years. I was very excited to learn from them. I learned how to change my required curriculum so that I can make it more engaging and increase rigor. I learned how important it is to build strong relationships with students and parents.
I connected with teachers to collaborate and shared ideas. I learned about room transformations and how to include and incease rigor and engagement.
At a conference like this you meet people that will continue to have an impact on you professionally for the rest of your life. You will be able to get many great ideas from them and continue to follow them and keep in contact These inspiring teachers will continue to have a ripple effect on myself and teachers and students that I work with.
I left energized, excited and determined to make a difference and build relationships with students and adults. I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity and I will continue to grown in my profession and impact students.”
