  • Punch That Paper!

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation. This will allow students to keep organized for all their subjects. Any handouts they receive, they will be able to punch holes in them and place behind the appropriate tab in their binder. Organized students have a better chance of succeeding because they know where their work is to be able to complete it as well as study from it.”

  • Smells Like Teen Spirit

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Every student in our middle school community received one of the hygiene bags with a deodorant. For the females, they also received a feminine hygiene product. The students were so greatly appreciative of it. They now are able to use the deodorant during the day after recess, gym or just during the day of they are not feeling fresh. Many have begun to bring those bags to the bathroom instead of their bookbags. In addition, I have seen them include other hygiene items in these bags. It has been a game changer for them.”

  • Welcome All to our Safe Space

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for you generosity. The items that were put purchased with your donations have been put to great use.

Students who come in late or are hungry are able to grab a snack from the food dispenser. A little cereal helps the students get through until lunch.

With the timers, students are now able to be responsible for their own time management when working in groups.

Students have also been able to be responsible for their actions in class by coming together once they hear the doorbell.

For those students who are a little shy, they have enjoyed using the microphone to speak louder in class. Some students enjoy using it a lunch to sing to songs they like.

These are just a few items that have truly made a difference to the students.”

  • Look at Me!

    Funded Jun 9, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Due to your generosity, every student can see their names hanging up in the school building at some point during the school year.

We now have a monthly birthday calendar that hangs for the entire month. One student got so excited to see their name hanging. His response "I never get to see my name on the wall. There it is." For some students, they get to see their name for their academic achievements. Not only do those students get excited, but their siblings look to see their names as well. It also encourages students to strive to do their best in the hope that they may make the wall as well.

The calendars are hung up in 8-9 different spots in the building. Every month, they are rotated out so that a new month can hang. For students whose birthdays are in July and August, their calendars will hang the month of June. The academic achievement frames will be changed every quarter.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. O'Neill

  • Eggcellent Time Working on Assessments

    Funded Apr 27, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Students are able to engage in group work in various ways.

First, students were able to play jeopardy type games as a group, using the Eggspert handheld responders as a buzzer. Buzzing in allowed groups to be called on to answer the question being asked.

The handheld devices also worked in a group work setting. Groups that needed assistance would push their buzzer. It would show the teacher that a particular group needed help, and the teacher could go to over right away. This helps the teacher manage time spent with students. Groups that need more assistance would use their buzzer to show this. Students who do no want to look like they are in need of help by raising their hand could ask for help discreetly and not feel like the class was looking at them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. O'Neill

  • Work and Keep Fit

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Due to the regulations put forth by our district, students who were in person learners spent a great deal of their school year learning remotely. Therefore, they did not get to move around as much as they would during a regular school year.

When the students saw the desk bike, they were super excited. They all had the same response, "Can I use it first? Students were able to use it bike while learning to get any pent up energy out. This allowed them to focus more on the learning.

Next year, I plan to keep a rotating list of whose turn it is for the period to use the desk bike. Everyone will get a to use the bike. This will also help students who may be shy to run in gym, but sitting, doing work, and biking, will be effortless for them.”
