Although I have access to the school's black and white printer, my students would benefit from a color one. Many have CVI (cortical visual impairment). This is a form of visual impairment which is the result from brain damage. They can see best with strong contrast and bright colors. Having a color printer would allow me to use a variety of visuals to use throughout the day. With the Epson Printer, I will be able to print out pictures of the students to help those who are unable to read their name and provide visuals for students who also have low vision who are learning to follow a picture schedule. The color visuals will help assist my students in communicating and expressing their needs.
