  • Show Me The Evidence - Literally!

    Funded Jan 7, 2022

Again, I want to thank you all for your generous donation to my students. Each child was given their very own copy of The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, being that that is the unit of study we are currently on. Each child is proud and is showing ownership of the book. During class, they are engage and analyzing the text to find Extreme and Absolute language. We are discussing powerful words and phrases and how stories, such as Frederick Douglass', have such enduring power and how the language that he uses in his narrative help his audience to understand his experience in history.

Students love that they can now write directly into the book and share their findings.

    Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marisa Tingos

  • Classroom Supplies Needed to Gear Collaborative Group Work!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

I want to thank you for your extremely generous donation of multiple supplies that will benefit all 90 of my students, both present and future. Supplies are extremely limited in the NYC Public schools, and we run out often. The donation that you have made will last quite a while and will impact many lives.

The paper, glue and markers were used for a group project where students were able to make a connection to a main character in the novel, Lyddie, which we recently finished. Students worked in groups to design shirts as if they were factory workers. Another class collaborated in groups to create anchor charts that are being used as a guide towards a new unit we are working on.

The donation of the laminator machine will allow me to laminate essential tools that students use repetitively through the year to assist them with their learning. This will allow me to reuse the essential tools for years to come.

Again, we cannot thank you enough for your donation. People like you make the world such a better place!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marisa Tingos

  • New Books Needed for Readers Eager to Know More!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Where do I even begin? WOW, my students were so excited when the donation of up-to-date books arrived to the classroom! We automatically began signing out books for students to use for independent reading. The classroom library is now spruced up thanks to you! It is amazing what a brand new set of books can do. My students are eager to read, they make sign out sheets with who gets the book next one it is returned. My students come into the classroom asking if the book was returned so that they can now sign it out. The excitement is amazing! Thank you so very much for the donation of new and improved books!”

  • Classroom Supplies Needed to Gear Collaborative Groupwork

    Funded Mar 10, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Words cannot thank you enough for the generous donation that you have made to my students. Your donations has reached 90 students who are eager to learn both creatively and strategically. The donation of markers, crayons, chart paper, ink, tape and copy paper has allowed us to work collaboratively in groups to share ideas and a love of learning.

Once the supplies arrived to our classroom, students could not believe that there were people in the world as generous as you. So far, we have created T-chart anchor charts that helped us to analyze a novel we are reading. We also created textual evidence organizers that helped us to observe, notice and wonder about the characters traits and the plot of events in the novel. We look forward to using the supplies in future tasks and cannot express how much your donation means to us. Thank you!”

    Funded Mar 21, 2011

I want to take the time to thank you for your donation to my classroom. The wireless color printer and ink helped my students to create colorful and educational projects. The projects were displayed in the hallway for all to see. My students love seeing the outcome of their creativity, especially in color. It makes them feel good about their achievements. I thank you again for making a difference in the lives of 90 students. The printer and ink will be used during the next school year with a new set of students.

  • Art Supplies Needed For Middle School Artists!

    Funded Sep 13, 2010

Thank you very much for the donation of art supplies. My students and I truly appreciate your generosity. The donation of art supplies enabled my students to let their creative side shine. I always have the students use art supplies for projects and classwork, and I encourage them to express their individual styles through the related assignment. It is always nice to see the end result and to hang their projects on the bulletin for the rest of the school to see. Thank you again. We appreciate it.”

  • Ink Needed For Our Work To Shine!

    Funded Sep 21, 2010

My students and I want to take this time to thank you for your generous donation of ink to the classroom. The ink has helped us greatly to complete class assignments and print out the finish product. The finished products always get displayed for the entire school to admire. It is important for the students to see their creativity off of the computer screen.

Thank you for providing a better education to our school by donating the supplies. It is people like you who make a difference.”

The headphones that were donated to the classroom are of great use! Headphones were needed so that the students would be able to concentrate on their assignment when using the laptops. Every student has a different method of learning and this will give them the opportunity to focus and put their best efforts forward. Again, we all thank you for your donation. It is people like you who give students a better education!”

  • We Could Save Our Work In A Flash! Flash Drives Needed!

    Funded Sep 21, 2010

Thank you very much for your donation of flash drives to my classroom. The students were overly excited when the package arrived. The flash drives are going to help us to save our incomplete projects and assignments that are done on the computer. Many students couldn't purchase a flash drive, so it is extremely convenient to have about 30 on hand in the classroom. The students are introduced to the different programs that Microsoft Office offers. It is exciting when the final draft gets printed out and hung up for the school to see.

Your donation has helped a great deal. Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marisa Tingos
