These books will be used by my sixth grade students during our Response to Intervention block. Most students who come to me every day for the RTI block are struggling with comprehension and reading skills. These are the kids who typically do not choose to read outside of school. I want to teach students strategies for choosing good books and encourage them to read for enjoyment. Having a friend to read with is just the cherry on top! These books will allow my students many choices, giving them ownership of their learning. Extra books will give them the opportunity to read and discuss their book with a friend.
